There is a pain on the right side of the head

Many people often say that they have headaches, and the headaches do not only occur on one side. Some may only have intermittent pain on the right side of the head. This intermittent pain may be caused by various complications such as cranial brain lesions, as well as nerve organs throughout the body, neural compression, etc., which require treatment after the cause is found.

Causes of symptoms

The causes of headache include intracranial lesions, extracranial lesions, systemic diseases and neurosis.

1. Brain lesions

1. Infection: such as meningitis, meningoencephalitis, encephalitis, brain abscess, etc.

2. Vascular diseases: such as subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis, cerebral embolism, hypertensive encephalopathy, cerebral ischemia, cerebral vascular malformations, rheumatic cerebrovascular vasculitis and thromboangiitis obliterans, etc.

3. Space-occupying lesions: such as brain tumors, intracranial metastases, intracranial cysticercosis or echinococcosis, etc.

4. Craniocerebral trauma: such as concussion, cerebral contusion, subdural hematoma, intracranial hematoma, sequelae of brain trauma, etc.

5. Others: such as migraine, cluster headache, muscle contraction headache, headache-type epilepsy, headache after lumbar puncture and lumbar anesthesia, etc.

2. Extracranial lesions

1. Skull diseases: such as basilar invagination, skull tumors, etc.

2. Neck diseases: such as cervical spondylosis and other neck diseases.

3. Neuralgia: such as trigeminal nerve, glossopharyngeal nerve and occipital neuralgia.

4. Others: Headaches caused by diseases of the eyes, ears, nose and teeth.

3. Systemic diseases

1. Acute infection: such as influenza, typhoid fever, pneumonia and other febrile diseases.

2. Cardiovascular diseases: such as hypertension, heart failure, etc.

3. Poisoning: such as lead, alcohol, carbon monoxide, organophosphorus, drugs (such as belladonna, salicylic acid), etc.
