How to make loquat paste

Loquat paste, as the name suggests, is a paste food made from loquat. Because loquat has great medicinal effects, especially in treating symptoms such as cough, loquat paste is still very popular. There are a lot of loquat pastes for sale on the market. Of course, if you want to eat a reliable and safer loquat paste, you can also make it yourself at home. So, how to make loquat paste? The following is a detailed introduction for you.

1. How to make loquat paste

1. Buy loquats

When buying loquats to make loquat paste, it is better to choose small loquats. Most local small loquats are naturally ripe and most of them are not sprayed with pesticides. As for loquats, for economic benefits, fruit farmers use pesticides to prevent pests and accelerate the ripening process so that they can be put on the market early and sell at a good price.

2. Wash the loquats

Clean the hair on the loquat, remove the stem and navel, and then hollow out the seeds inside. Be sure to wash it thoroughly, do not tear off the skin, and finally dig out the seeds.

3. Prepare to cook

Put the cleaned loquats into the pot and add just enough water to cover the loquats. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer over high heat until the loquats are soft.

4. Cooking

When the loquats are soft, add rock sugar and simmer over low heat. When the loquats have turned brown, you can take them out and continue to simmer over low heat. If the loquat paste has not yet become sticky, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar and continue to simmer for half an hour.

5. Canning

After cooling, you will find that the loquat paste is sticky and sweet. Add sugar according to your taste. For one pound of loquats, you should add at least half a pound of rock sugar. If you like sweet food, you can add more sugar. After cooling, wipe the inside of the clean glass jar dry, then scoop the loquat paste into the jar. You can add a sealing ring to cover the jar and put it in the refrigerator.

2. The correct way to eat loquat paste

1. You need to prescribe the right medicine for the right cough. You cannot use loquat paste for all coughs. If it is a cough caused by cold, this loquat paste is not suitable for treatment. The medication should be used in moderation and according to the condition of the disease. Otherwise, not only will the treatment effect not be achieved, but it will also cause more serious consequences.

2. If you make a lot of loquat paste and cannot finish it at one time, you can drink it slowly, starting with a little, and then gradually increasing the amount until you finish the homemade loquat paste within 1 month. Do not leave it for too long, and do not drink it for a long time, otherwise it will endanger your health. Use a fixed, dry spoon to avoid water entering the spoon to prevent the loquat paste from spoiling.

3. When drinking loquat paste, you can drink it directly, but you cannot drink water immediately, otherwise it will reduce the efficacy of the medicine. Generally take it 2 to 3 times a day, and in severe cases, drink it three times will be enough. Also, be careful not to eat spicy food, eat a light, balanced diet, and exercise moderately.

3. Is loquat paste suitable for everyone?

Although loquat paste has very good medicinal value, it is not suitable for everyone. Patients with lung disease and high blood sugar should not take loquat paste, otherwise it will aggravate their condition. Patients with cold stomach, cold cough, spleen deficiency diarrhea, and cold-type colds should not eat too much.

If the patient has diabetes, it is best not to choose loquat paste for oral conditioning, otherwise it will cause blood sugar to rise. Patients with liver or kidney disease, if they are taking any traditional Chinese medicine, should consult a doctor before using loquat paste.

Patients with bronchiectasis, lung abscess, cor pulmonale, and tuberculosis should take the medicine under the guidance of a physician.
