A nine-month-old baby fell off the bed and landed on his forehead

Babies falling out of bed is something that many parents will encounter, because children like to turn over when they sleep at night. If there are no guardrails around, the child will fall out of bed. If the child falls out of bed, you need to see if the head is hit, if there are signs of bleeding or the child is crying and restless. These symptoms should be checked in time by the hospital.

"Babies falling out of bed is something that many parents have encountered. Some parents think that babies' bones are very soft, and even if they fall off the bed, it will not cause much harm. In fact, this idea is wrong." If the hands, feet, joints or head touch the ground first when falling out of bed, it may cause fractures, injuries to the facial features, etc. Severe cases may even cause craniocerebral damage, which will not only affect brain development, but also cause intracranial hemorrhage and secondary epilepsy.

What to do if the baby falls out of bed?

Parents are reminded not to pick up their children immediately, but to observe them quietly for 10 seconds. First check whether the child has active bleeding. If so, apply pressure to stop the bleeding and take the child to the hospital for treatment. If not, encourage your child to exercise on his own and check if any movement disorders occur. If one side of the limb is immobile or has reduced movement, pay attention to protection to avoid aggravating the injury when hugging the child.

Through observation, it is determined that the child has no active bleeding and movement disorder, and then you can hold the child and coax him until he stops crying. At this time, check whether the child's nervous system shows any abnormal behavior, such as drowsiness, screaming, abnormal behavior, etc. If it occurs or is suspected, go to the hospital for examination. If the patient is conscious and behaves normally, and there are still no abnormal symptoms after 24 hours, then the damage to the nervous system has been completely ruled out.

In addition, you should also check whether there is hematoma at the part of the child's body that landed on the ground. If so, you can use a cold towel to apply cold compress to reduce the amount of bleeding. If there is still bruising after three days, use a hot towel to apply hot compress.
