Does less frequent urination mean kidney problems?

Does less frequent urination mean kidney problems?

The kidneys are closely related to a person's defecation function. Many abnormal urination conditions are related to kidney function. For example, infrequent urination may indicate kidney disease. In addition, if a person feels weak, has a poor appetite, itchy skin, edema, changes in urine volume, or foamy urine, these are all signs of poor kidney function. If these problems occur, the body must be adjusted in a timely manner. So, how can we improve the condition of poor kidney function?

1. Does less frequent urination mean kidney problems?

Yes. When the kidney function is poor, a lot of waste products are difficult to excrete from the urine, and you will feel listless, tired, weak and other symptoms. If the kidneys are diseased, nutrients such as protein will leak out of the kidneys and be excreted from the body through urine, which may also cause weakness. Some patients may think that they are overworked or have other reasons and ignore kidney problems. A healthy person urinates about 4-6 times a day, with a urine volume of about 800-2000 ml. If the frequency of urination and urine volume are too much or too little, you should pay attention.

2. Signs of poor kidney function

1. Boring

The most basic function of the kidneys is to produce urine, which excretes certain metabolic wastes and toxins out of the body. If there is a problem, it will be difficult for waste to be excreted from the body through urine, so you will feel listless, tired, weak and other symptoms. Many people in life think that this is caused by fatigue or other factors and often ignore kidney problems.

2. Poor appetite

Patients will experience a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms, especially due to gastrointestinal edema, often with symptoms of digestive dysfunction such as loss of appetite and abdominal bloating.

3. Skin itching

For patients with end-stage renal disease, urea in the body cannot be excreted through urine and will be excreted through the skin, thereby irritating the skin. In addition, toxins accumulated in the body can lead to peripheral neuropathy and also cause skin itching.

4. Edema

The kidneys are the organs that metabolize water in the human body. If the kidneys are not healthy, water will accumulate. Some people find that their eyelids, or feet and legs are swollen when they wake up in the morning. They should consider kidney problems.

5. Changes in urine volume

A normal person urinates 1000-2000 ml of urine per day, with an average of 1500 ml. Whether the amount of urine increases or decreases, it may be a manifestation of kidney disease. Especially for normal people, who rarely urinate at night, if you find that you have to get up several times at night and do not drink much water before going to bed, you should be more alert to kidney disease.

6. Foamy urine

There are many reasons why there is foam in the urine, and kidney disease can also cause this phenomenon. If protein leaks from the kidneys into the urine, the urine will become foamy.

3. Ways to improve poor kidney function

When tapping, press the palms of your hands against your ears on both sides, and use three fingers (index finger, middle finger, and ring finger) to gently tap the back of your head. This method can stimulate the acupoints around the auricle, prevent dizziness, tinnitus, and promote hearing.

Use the tip of the thumb of one hand to press tightly on the nail tip or the back of another finger, and force the finger to slide out, so that the back of the finger can exert force, which can effectively relieve fatigue.

Press the external auditory canals of both ears with the palms of both hands, and gently tap the occipital bone behind the head with the index, middle and ring fingers of both hands. Then cover the external auditory canal with the palm of your hand, press your fingers tightly on the occipital bone behind your head without moving, and then quickly lift them away. At this time, you will hear a sound like a cannon in your ear. Repeat this 5-10 times, 2-3 times a day.

In addition, Chinese medicine also believes that the kidney opens up to the ear. Therefore, this exercise can also achieve the effect of regulating and replenishing kidney essence, strengthening the kidneys, and the elderly may wish to do it more often.
