How to use primer correctly

1. Apply the key points

Primer can be applied anywhere on the face, but the best way is not to apply it all over the face. Primer is just to give you a roughly even skin tone before applying foundation, so it needs to be applied with focus. For areas prone to dullness like the T-zone, you need to focus on applying some skin-brightening primer, but on the cheeks, you basically don't need to apply any.

2. Apply around the eyes

Gently pat around the eyes and upper eyelids. The primer now plays a three-in-one role: preventing oiliness around the eyes, preventing makeup from smudging, lightening crow's feet, and neutralizing redness.

3. Lip primer

Before applying lip makeup, use lip primer and gently pat it on the lips to prevent makeup smudges or pigmentation, and make the color of lipstick more vivid. If you don't have a special lip primer, you can use the one on your face.

4. Apply on the palm of your hand

Use the temperature of your palms to warm the primer of the same texture so that it can better fit the skin. When dark circles are more serious, special treatment is required. Dip your ring finger in a proper amount of primer, apply it under the eyes, then rub it with your palms to warm it up, and use the warmth of your palms to lightly press the eyes to allow the edges to blend better with the skin.

5. Mix liquid foundation

Depending on the different effects of the primer, mixing it with liquid foundation can achieve the desired effect. If some liquid foundation is dry, then add moisturizing primer and mix evenly to create a fitting makeup look. If you add a brightening primer to your foundation, your entire makeup will look extra shiny. If some foundation is too moisturizing, then mixing it with an oil-control primer can prolong the time that the skin produces oil.

6. Use before primer

If it is a simple colored primer that can even out skin tone and fill in fine lines, use it before sunscreen primer. In addition, if the product has sun protection and isolation effects, there is no need to apply sunscreen and isolation cream again.
