Shan Guimin moxibustion hemorrhoids

Shan Guimin moxibustion hemorrhoids

There are many hemorrhoid patients in life, especially men. Nine out of ten men suffer from hemorrhoids. Many women will also suffer from hemorrhoids after the confinement period. The treatment of hemorrhoids is generally carried out by taking medicine and applying medicine at the same time. Some patients also use moxibustion treatment. Moxibustion treatment can choose Chengshan acupoint and Erbai acupoint. The following introduces Dan Guimin's moxibustion method for hemorrhoids.

There are also many people who experience symptoms but do not realize they have hemorrhoids. In fact, any small fleshy protrusions inside or outside the anus are called hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are venous masses formed by the enlargement and varicose veins under the mucosa or subcutaneous veins at the end of the rectum. Hemorrhoids located above the dentate line of the anus are internal hemorrhoids, those below the dentate line are external hemorrhoids, and those with both are mixed hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are called hemorrhoids because they can cause tissue inflammation, hypertrophy, swelling, pain, itching, and bleeding.

External hemorrhoids often have superfluous skin flaps at the edge of the anus, which are not easy to bleed. The main symptoms are pain and foreign body sensation. Internal hemorrhoids can cause bleeding after defecation, and the blood is bright red and attached to the stool. As hemorrhoids develop, they may gradually increase in size and may even protrude from the anus during bowel movements.

The main cause of hemorrhoids is poor blood circulation in the anal veins. Moxibustion has a powerful function of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, making it perfect for the treatment of hemorrhoids. So, which acupoints do we need to moxibustion?

First is the anus

For convenience, you can take off your underwear and sit on a small stool with a hole in the middle, aim your anus at the small hole, put the lit moxa stick in the moxibustion box, aim it at the small hole and fumigate your anus, 30 minutes each time, once a day.

Then there is Chengshan acupoint

Chengshan point is located at the posterior part of the calf, at the angle between the two bellies of the gastrocnemius muscle and the tendon. When the calf is straightened or the heel is lifted, a sharp-angled depression appears under the bellies of the gastrocnemius muscle. Chengshan point is a commonly used acupuncture point for anal diseases. It has the functions of regulating qi and relieving pain, relaxing muscles and tendons, and eliminating hemorrhoids. In addition, pressing the Chengshan point every day can relieve calf fatigue and beautify the calf lines.

Huiyang Point

BL4: In the sacrum, 0.5-cun lateral to the end of the coccyx. Simple acupoint location: Sit or kneel, and press the depressed area near the lower end of the coccyx where you feel soreness and swelling, which is the acupoint. It is mainly used to treat abdominal pain, diarrhea, dysentery, blood in the stool, hemorrhoids, leucorrhea, impotence, and genital itching.

Erbai Point

Erbai is an extra meridian point located on the anterior forearm, 4 inches above the distal transverse line on the palm side of the wrist, on both sides of the radial flexor carpi tendon (put your palm upward and make a fist, you can see the two tendons on the upper arm, the tendon on the thumb side is the radial flexor carpi tendon), with two points on one limb. There is a motto that goes, "Hemorrhoids and fistulas can also be treated with acupuncture, but tenesmus is the most difficult to treat. If it causes itching, pain, or bleeding, find the Erbai point at the back of the palm." Although it refers to acupuncture at the Erbai point, moxibustion is equally effective. Moxibustion on Erbai acupoint has the effect of harmonizing qi and blood, lifting the anus and eliminating hemorrhoids.

Except for the anus, the above three acupoints are treated with gentle moxibustion, with each acupoint being moxibustioned for 10 minutes, once a day, and 10 times as a course of treatment. One day of rest is allowed between courses of treatment. Hemorrhoids are not formed overnight, and the same goes for treating hemorrhoids. As long as you persist, there will definitely be improvement.
