Some people often brush their teeth perfunctorily, finishing the process in less than a minute; some people deliberately choose toothbrushes with hard bristles in order to thoroughly clean their teeth; some people brush their teeth several times a day or do not brush their teeth for several days. In fact, these practices are all wrong. If you fail to brush your teeth scientifically, it will often lead to bad breath, bleeding gums, loose teeth or even falling teeth. Therefore, brushing teeth should be scientific, and we must get rid of the misunderstandings about daily brushing.

During the process of brushing teeth, if the brushing method is incorrect, the brushing effect will be different. Many people brush their teeth horizontally, but they don’t know that brushing their teeth horizontally can seriously damage the enamel, dentin, gums and periodontal tissues. There is no fixed pattern for the correct way to brush your teeth. Just follow a certain order, such as brushing your teeth from top to bottom, from outside to inside, and completely brush the lips, cheeks, palate, tongue, and occlusal surfaces.

Many people believe that if the bristles of a toothbrush are hard, it will be more beneficial for cleaning the teeth and will clean more thoroughly, so they often choose large-headed toothbrushes with hard bristles and lots of bristles. In fact, this idea is wrong.

This is because if the bristles of the toothbrush you choose are too hard and too dense, it will be difficult to clean the plaque in the gaps between teeth and on hidden surfaces when brushing your teeth. Not only will the cleaning effect be poor, but it will be seriously reduced. Moreover, hard-bristled toothbrushes often scratch the gums, causing bleeding gums, gum damage or gum recession.

Many people think that brushing teeth is an unimportant matter. As long as you brush it every day, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. They are unwilling to waste more time brushing their teeth. In daily life, some people brush their teeth for a short period of time of tens of seconds or more than ten minutes, until they start to gag.

Brushing your teeth for too long or too short is not scientific. If you brush your teeth for too short a time, you will be in a hurry and fail to achieve the purpose of cleaning your teeth; if you brush your teeth for too long, it will damage your gums. The scientific number and time of brushing teeth should follow the "three threes", that is, brushing teeth three times a day, brushing for 3 minutes after meals, and brushing teeth for 3 minutes each time. This can fully achieve the purpose of eliminating dental plaque and cleaning the mouth.

Warm reminder: Protect your teeth scientifically. So don't just brush your teeth too frequently. And when brushing your teeth in daily life, you need to choose to buy some toothbrushes with softer bristles and small-headed toothbrushes. Take your time when brushing your teeth and avoid brushing your teeth vigorously. Brushing too hard is actually a wrong approach.
