Ginger is indispensable in daily cooking dishes, especially for odorous meat products, ginger is especially used to remove meat and odor. Ginger water can also be used to soak your feet to prolong your life, promote blood circulation and remove blood. It has a good auxiliary effect, especially for people with cold body. Tips for preserving ginger, however, ginger is not easy to preserve, it is easy to mold, and it will become liquid in the refrigerator.

1. Bag method: Put an appropriate amount of fresh ginger into a paper bag or plastic bag (food bag) and store it at 11℃ ~ 14℃.

2. Canning method: Wash and dry the fresh ginger and put it in a salt jar. It can be preserved for a long time and is also convenient to use.

3. Wine soaking method: If you remove the ginger skin, put a little white wine or yellow wine and seal it, it can also achieve the effect of long-term preservation.

4. Sand and wet method: Choose a large piece of fresh ginger with no damage to the outer skin and thick stems, remove the sprouting part, and bury it in moist but not wet fine sand or loess (including soil in flower pots and washbasins). It can be stored for a long time without spoiling or drying out. But be careful to prevent freezing in winter and avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight in summer.

5. Cotton wool method: Choose a wide-mouthed bottle with a lid, place a small piece of cotton wool soaked in water at the bottom of the bottle (not too much water, as it will rot the ginger), then place the remaining fresh ginger on the cotton wool and cover the bottle with a lid. This method can be used at any time and is extremely convenient.

Warm reminder: When storing ginger, never freeze it, because ginger will be frozen when the temperature drops below zero and will rot after being frozen.

Selecting Ginger

Choose fresh ginger without worm holes for storage. Those with worm holes or damaged skin should be used up as soon as possible.

Store the ginger in a plastic bag in a warm and ventilated place. It can be stored for a long time.

03Sand

Bury the ginger in moist sand and dig it out when you need it. This will also allow the ginger to be preserved for a long time without deteriorating.

04 Ginger slices

Cut the ginger into ginger skin, then put it in the sun to dry and then store it, which can also preserve the ginger for a longer time.
