Different people have different suitable swimming postures. Some people choose breaststroke, but when doing breaststroke, their legs always sink, which makes people very uneasy and scared. You can learn some correct swimming methods.

The density of the legs at this time is definitely greater than that of the body, so the legs are easy to sink.

For example, when a person lies prone on the water with his hands outstretched, he usually cannot be parallel to the water surface and his legs will sink slightly.

For example: an object with the front half made of wood and the back half made of iron will be tilted when placed in water.

How to keep your legs from sinking during breaststroke:

1. Stretch your hands forward as far as possible, because the density of the hands is basically the same as the density of the legs, which is equivalent to moving the center of gravity forward a little, so that the feet will not be heavy and the head will not be light.

For example: if you take an object with a wooden front half and an iron back half, and add a small piece of iron in front of the front half, it will be nearly balanced.

2. After kicking your legs in breaststroke, keep your body in a streamlined shape (gently straighten the instep of your feet to reduce resistance). As long as you have a certain previous speed, your legs will slowly float up.

For example: a speedboat is dragging a block of iron with a rope. When it reaches a certain speed, the block of iron will approach the water surface. When it stopped, the iron sank.

To slide after pushing off your legs, you need to wait until your arms are straight and your body is close to the horizontal plane before pushing off effectively. When breathing, since the person is leaning (upright), when you kick your legs, you can only push downwards. The backward effect is very weak, and you can only move forward a little bit.

3. The most important point is that the breaststroke leg movement is wrong. When kicking the water, it does not provide enough thrust to the legs to make the legs float. The breaststroke legs are "kicking and clamping the water". Using only the soles of the feet to push the water is a typical mistake and will not allow the legs to float. The inner side of the calf must be used to expand the area of ​​the water in order to provide sufficient power. It's like replacing the oar with a larger one. (Before kicking and catching water, when you turn over your legs, your feet should point to both sides, in order to ensure the water-catching action with the inner side of your calves).

If you only kick the water without squeezing the water, you will not be able to move forward efficiently.

Without using the water-gripping action of the inner side of the calf, you cannot feel the resistance of the water, and there is not much forward momentum.

How to raise your shoulders more above the water to breathe

Paddle with straight arms, with your body and hands forming a Y shape. Do peach-shaped strokes and stand up by folding your forearms. The strength to get up mainly depends on the palms and forearms to hold the water. After the water is clamped, part of the water will flow upwards and part will flow downwards. The upward flow of water helps more people get up. Note that your body and thighs are in a straight line after you stand up.

The closer your forearms are to the body and hold the water, the more your body will rise. Note that when you stand up, your head, body, and thighs are in a straight line. Don't stand your legs straight, as it's easy to sink, and there will be a lot of resistance when you do the breaststroke kick in the next step.

Use straight arms to push the water with the palms facing outwards (the palms are not completely facing outwards, so you cannot feel the help of the water, it is just touching the water), use high elbows to hold the water, and use your upper arms to clamp the water to both sides of the body.
