Ascorbic acid 3+ is a very common phenomenon. Some people often find it during the examination. This situation is vitamin C. It is necessary to consider whether it is related to diet. For example, too much vitamin C is supplemented in the diet, or a large number of vitamin tablets are taken. These may cause this situation. It should be noted that vitamins are also harmful and need special control. (1) Research by authoritative foreign organizations has shown that people who take excessive amounts of vitamin C over a long period of time in order to increase their resistance to colds will actually have a decrease in the amount of vitamin C in their bodies. This is because taking large doses changes the regulatory mechanism of vitamin C in the body, accelerating its decomposition and excretion. Therefore, once the drug is stopped, it may cause withdrawal reactions and early symptoms of scurvy (including swollen and bleeding gums and loose teeth). (2) Children who take large doses of vitamin C during their growing period may be more susceptible to bone diseases in the future because large doses of vitamin C can damage the formation process of osteoblasts. (3) Taking more than 4 grams of vitamin C orally every day may cause urinary calcium oxalate stones and kidney stones after one week. In severe cases, it may cause hematuria and renal colic. Excess vitamin C makes the urine acidic, leading to oxalate stones. (iv) Large doses of vitamin C can counteract the anticoagulant effects of heparin and dicoumarol, leading to thrombosis, which makes people with existing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases more susceptible to cerebral infarction (stroke). (V) Intake of large doses of vitamin C can increase urinary excretion. Due to its reducing property, it can produce a false positive reaction for urine sugar, which hinders the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic patients and the accurate grasp of the dosage of hypoglycemic drugs. (6) Large doses of vitamin C can reduce women’s fertility and affect the development of the embryo. Because large doses of vitamin C can easily form an "acidic constitution" in the body, which is not conducive to the development of reproductive cells. (7) When the daily dose of vitamin C exceeds 3 grams, it can lead to increased intestinal motility, causing abdominal cramps and diarrhea in some people. (8) Taking vitamin C and foods containing vitamin B12 at the same time can destroy a considerable amount of vitamin B12. When a large amount of vitamin B12 is destroyed, people are prone to anemia. |
