Heel hurts when I straighten my legs

Some pain may occur in various parts of the human body. Many pains are direct, while some are indirect. For example, some people feel pain in their heels when they straighten their legs. This is a very rare phenomenon. The patient does not know what caused it or what disease he has. In fact, there are many reasons why the heels hurt when the legs are straightened. You can continue to learn more and treat them according to the cause.

1. There are many causes of heel pain, mainly clinically:

(1) Achilles tendinitis; (2) Calcaneous spur; (3) Calcaneous periostitis; (4) Subcalcaneal fat pad injury; (5) Calcaneous fracture; (6) Calcaneous subcutaneous bursitis; (7) Tarsal sinus soft tissue strain; (8) Calcaneous tuberculosis, tumor, etc.

Second, the maintenance methods for heel pain are:

1. Rest; 2. Choose shoes with thick soles, firm soles and soft insoles. It is best if the heel has a certain curvature to adapt to the curvature of the heel; 3. Use soft pads on the heel, such as heel pain pads made of silicone, to protect the heel and reduce friction; 5. Functional exercises.

3. Treatment:

1. Physical therapy; 2. Oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drug treatment; 3. Local blockade treatment; 4. Corrective insoles to relieve plantar fascia tension, reduce irritation and relieve pain.

Most heel pain is caused by inflammation of the ligaments. The human heel is composed of 33 joints and more than 100 tendons and ligaments. The ligaments on the sole of the foot are tightly connected to the bottom of the heel bone. When people walk, huge pulling force is concentrated in a narrow area on the ligament under the heel bone. Repeated pulling and friction can easily lead to inflammation of the junction of the ligament and bone, causing pain. At the same time, weight also has a certain relationship with heel pain. Generally speaking, fatter people are more likely to suffer from heel pain.

Shoes are one of the main causes of heel pain. The bones, muscles and ligaments of the feet bear the entire body weight of a person, which requires the shoes to fully support the arch of the foot, so that the force on the sole of the foot is evenly distributed and the ligaments are properly relaxed. However, some manufacturers cut corners on the internal structure of the shoes in order to reduce costs, resulting in the structure inside the shoe being unable to effectively support the arch of the foot and concentrating force on a certain part of the sole of the foot. This increases the pressure on the ligaments and makes the ligaments more susceptible to inflammation.

Therefore, to protect your heels, you must first choose shoes of qualified quality, especially sports shoes; at the same time, be careful not to let your feet over-fatigue. Some people, such as salespersons, have to stand for long periods of time every day due to work needs. In this case, they can change their standing posture, alternating between leaning forward and leaning backward or occasionally holding on to the counter to relax their foot joints to prevent a certain part of the ligament from being subjected to too much force for a long time. If your heel is already painful and inflamed, you should stop exercising and give the ligaments enough rest. You can also use a "heel pad" to raise the heel, move the force point of the sole of the foot forward, reduce the tension on the heel ligament, and help the ligament recover as soon as possible.

In addition, it is generally believed that it is related to the increased intraosseous pressure in the heel. For patients with heel pain, orthopedics often use a drilling decompression method. However, some people do not have increased intraosseous pressure. People with kidney deficiency, as described by traditional Chinese medicine, will also experience heel pain. This is especially true for some women, postpartum women, or people with poor physical fitness.
