Early symptoms and signs of breast cancer

Early symptoms and signs of breast cancer

Breast cancer may have the following symptoms and precursors in the early stages. Common early manifestations of breast cancer include breast lumps, nipple discharge, nipple and areola changes, breast skin changes, axillary lymph node enlargement, etc. If you have any discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time and take appropriate measures under the guidance of a doctor. The details are as follows:

1. Breast lumps: Usually painless, solitary lumps with hard texture, irregular edges and less smooth surface. Once a lump is found, further examination is usually required, such as breast ultrasound, mammography, etc. If breast cancer is confirmed, treatment methods may include surgical resection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy, etc.

2. Nipple discharge: spontaneous bloody, serous or purulent discharge from the nipple during the non-lactating period. First, the cause of the discharge must be determined, and cytology and ductoscopy may be required. If it is caused by breast cancer, the treatment plan is similar to the above.

3. Changes in the nipple and areola: nipple retraction, depression, itching, erosion, ulceration of the areola skin, etc. Choose an appropriate comprehensive treatment plan based on the severity of the disease and the stage of cancer.

4. Breast skin changes: “dimple sign”, “orange peel-like changes”. Multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, etc., to remove tumors and control the disease.

5. Swollen axillary lymph nodes: Painless swollen lymph nodes can be felt in the axilla. Axillary lymph nodes may be cleared or radiotherapy may be performed while treating breast cancer.

Knowing the early symptoms and signs of breast cancer can help early detection and diagnosis. Once diagnosed, you should actively cooperate with the doctor for standardized treatment to improve the cure rate and survival rate. At the same time, regular breast examinations are also very important for early detection of breast cancer.
