Can traditional Chinese medicine treat lymphoma?

Lymphoma is one of the top ten malignant tumors in China. Since the symptoms in the early and middle stages are not obvious, many patients are already in the late stage when they seek medical treatment. In most patients, the disease has spread to multiple parts of the body or even the whole body. Surgery is no longer possible and they can only be treated with drugs.

1. Phlegm-heat accumulation

Symptoms: swelling or nodules in the neck or groin, or abdominal lumps, severe fever, night sweats, dry mouth, sore throat, restlessness and insomnia, itchy skin, yellow body and eyes, dry stools or blood in the stool, scanty urination, red tongue with yellow and dry coating or red and purple tongue with no coating, and a thin and rapid pulse or a thin and smooth pulse.

2. Qi stagnation and phlegm stagnation

Symptoms: chest tightness and discomfort, distension in the flanks, abdominal masses, numbness in the neck, armpits or groin, unchanged skin color, or local swelling, or accompanied by low fever and night sweats, pale red tongue, thin white or thin yellow fur, and a wiry and slippery pulse, or a fine and stringy pulse.

Treatment: Soothe the liver, relieve depression, resolve phlegm and disperse nodules

Drugs: Raw oyster, Scrophularia, Prunella Vulgaris, Cat's Claw, Bupleurum, White Peony, Citrus Aurantium, Cyperus, Curcuma, Fritillaria, Roasted Licorice. For hard or large abdominal masses, add Trillium and Curcuma; for numbness in the neck and other places, add Beehive and Earthworm; for phlegm accumulation and heat, add Radix Trichosanthis and Fleabane; for low-grade fever and night sweats, add Radix Digu and Bupleurum; for spleen deficiency, add Codonopsis and Poria.
