What items should be checked during the 33-week prenatal check-up?

At 33 weeks of pregnancy, it has entered the late stage of pregnancy. As we all know, early and late pregnancy are two relatively dangerous stages for pregnant women, but the risks faced in different stages are different. For example, in the early stage of pregnancy, there is a risk of miscarriage, and in the late stage of pregnancy, pregnant women have difficulty in moving, and they need the careful care of their family. So, if you go for a prenatal check-up at 33 weeks of pregnancy, what items generally need to be checked?

33-week prenatal checkup items:

1. Blood routine examination method

A routine blood test involves collecting blood from the finger or earlobe using a needle, diluting it and dropping it onto a special calculation plate. The plate is then placed under a microscope to count the number of blood cells, and the disease is diagnosed by observing the number and morphological distribution of these cells. The main examination items include the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin and platelets. The inspection method is relatively simple and the results are usually available in about two hours.

2. Normal values of blood routine test

In China, the normal value of hemoglobin for expectant mothers is considered to be 100g/L. Below 100g/L is mild anemia, below 80g/L is moderate anemia, and below 60g/L is severe anemia.

In addition to the numbers on the routine blood test report, there will also be symbols "↑" and "↓" to indicate that the value is higher or lower than the normal reference value.

Tips for prenatal checkup at 33 weeks of pregnancy:

1. For the first prenatal blood test, expectant mothers are advised to fast because it will be accompanied by a liver function test; there is no fasting requirement for subsequent blood tests, and you can drink water during the blood test.

2. After drawing blood, please pay attention to press the wound with a sterile dry cotton ball for about 5 minutes. Do not bend your elbow to stop bleeding, and do not twist the cotton ball to avoid subcutaneous bruising. The judgment standard is when the wound stops bleeding.

3. Expectant mothers who find symptoms of anemia during pregnancy should not worry too much. They can supplement the blood by eating high-protein and high-iron foods. Doctors will also prescribe some blood-enriching drugs according to the severity of the anemia.

4. The next prenatal check-up will be at 36 weeks, and you will have prenatal check-ups every week starting from next week. Prenatal check-ups in the late pregnancy are very important and should not be ignored.

Fetal heart rate monitoring is not unfamiliar to many pregnant mothers. Changes in fetal heart rate are a manifestation of the normal regulatory function of the central nervous system and a sign that the baby is in good condition in the uterus. Many mothers monitor the fetal heartbeat at home in order to detect any abnormalities in the child in a timely manner. This action is also supported by the editor. The condition of the fetus in the mother's body can be reflected by monitoring fetal movement and fetal heart rate. After 35 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women should undergo fetal heart monitoring when they go to the hospital for prenatal check-ups every week.

Heart monitoring is done through two probes tied to the expectant mother. One probe is tied to the top of the uterus and is a pressure receptor. Its main function is to understand whether there are uterine contractions and their intensity. The other probe is placed on the chest or back of the fetus to measure the fetal heart rate. The screen of the instrument displays corresponding graphics of fetal heart rate and uterine contractions, so expectant mothers can clearly see their baby's heartbeat. There is also another button that the expectant mother can press when she feels the fetal movement, and the machine will automatically record the fetal movement. The fetal heart rate monitor calculates the number of heart beats for each cardiac cycle of the fetus and records it on a graph in sequence to show the baseline variation of the fetal heart rate. Within a certain range, changes in the baseline fetal heart rate indicate that the central autonomic nervous system regulation and cardiac conduction function of the fetal heart have been established, and the fetal heart has a certain reserve capacity.
