Pain in the lateral calf muscles

Pain in the lateral calf muscles

The human body often feels pain at unexpected times. This may be due to people not paying attention to their posture or there is a problem somewhere. Some people inadvertently find that the tendons on the side of their calves are very painful. This may be caused by incorrect standing posture or sitting for too long, which causes the calf tendons to become numbed. Let's take a closer look at what causes lateral calf muscle pain.

Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome: Patients complain of numbness in the anterolateral thigh, tingling or burning pain, which worsens when walking and is relieved by bed rest. There is tenderness in the inner and inferior part of the anterior superior iliac spine, where the Tinels sign is positive, and the anterior and lateral thigh has decreased sensation or hyperesthesia. Symptoms worsen when the hip is extended and the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is stretched.

1. Thigh stabbing pain: Needle-like pain occurs at the base of the thigh, which lasts for a short time and has no fixed onset time. There are two common reasons for this situation: lumbar disc herniation and local inflammation of the thigh.

2. Tenderness in the femoral triangle: Ilio-femoral vein thrombophlebitis has an acute onset, and may first present with high fever and general discomfort. Within a few hours, swelling and pain will occur in one side of the iliac abdomen and thigh, the skin will turn pale, or even cyanotic, and the skin temperature will rise. The swelling may extend from the lower abdomen and buttocks to the entire affected limb, and there will be obvious tenderness in the femoral triangle on the inner thigh.

3. Radiating pain in the lower limbs: Symptoms of radiating pain in the lower limbs: It can extend along the lower back, buttocks, back of the thigh, front or posterolateral side of the calf to the heel. The pain is mainly radiating and stabbing. Radiating pain in the lower limbs may occur before low back pain, or it may occur after the onset of low back pain symptoms. These two situations vary from person to person.

The above content is an introduction to the pain in the outer tendon of the right leg. If you experience this symptom, you must not ignore it, but first find out the cause. If the pain is severe, you should go to the hospital for examination in time, and then prescribe the right medicine. I hope the patient can recover soon!
