What disease is it that causes fleshy lumps all over the body

Some people are born with a physique that is prone to scar hyperplasia. Even the slightest trauma will cause a scar, and these are not ordinary scars. The growth of flesh lumps all over the body is probably a case of scar hyperplasia. These scars are dark red, raised and connected together, which is extremely ugly, and they will also cause itching and severe pain. Scars can be painful due to irritation such as sweat and spicy food, and even treatment cannot completely eliminate the signs of scars.

A flesh lump, also known as a scar, is the common name for a scar formed by local tissue hyperplasia due to injury. This disease is described in the "Lecture Notes on Chinese Medicine Surgery" of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Also known as saw mark disease, meat centipede, and scar. It is mostly caused by the proliferation of granulation tissue due to trauma, burns, surgical incisions, or the healing of carbuncles, boils and furuncles. This disease is mostly caused by specific physical constitution.

Its shape and location vary depending on the injury. The bumps are mostly light red or dark red, with a smooth and shiny surface without any hair; or they may be painful or itchy. If it occurs in the joints, it can often cause partial dysfunction of the local joints. It can be treated with external application of softening agents, fumigation, antipruritic measures or physical therapy. That is keloid.

Hypertrophic scars

Any injury involving the deep dermis, such as deep burns above degree II, cuts, infections, and the donor area after taking a medium-thickness skin graft, may form a hypertrophic scar. Clinical manifestations: The scar is significantly higher than the surrounding normal skin and is locally thickened and hardened. In the early stages, due to capillary congestion, the surface of the scar appears red, flushed or purple. During this stage, itching and pain are the main symptoms, and scratching may even lead to surface ulcers. After a considerable period of time, the congestion decreases, the surface color becomes lighter, the scar gradually becomes softer and flatter, and the itching and pain are reduced and even disappear. The length of this proliferative period varies depending on the person and the site of the lesion. Generally speaking, the hyperplasia period is longer in children and young adults, while it is shorter in the elderly over 50 years old; the hyperplasia period of scars occurring in areas with rich blood supply, such as the face, is longer, while the hyperplasia period of scars occurring in areas with poor blood supply, such as the extremities and anterior tibial area, is shorter. Although hypertrophic scars can be more than 2 cm thick, they are not tightly adhered to deep tissues and can be pushed, and generally have a clear boundary with the surrounding normal skin. Hypertrophic scars are less contractile than contracture scars. Therefore, hypertrophic scars occurring in non-functional parts generally do not cause serious functional impairment, while large hypertrophic scars in joints, due to their thick and hard splinting effect, hinder joint movement and may cause functional impairment. Hypertrophic scars located on the flexion surface of the joint may undergo significant contraction in the late stage, resulting in obvious functional disorders such as jaw-neck adhesion.

Keloid

The occurrence of keloid has obvious individual differences. Most keloids usually occur one year after local injury, including surgery, lacerations, tattoos, burns, injections, animal bites, vaccinations, acne and foreign body reactions, and the primary disease history of many patients may be forgotten.
