What are the methods for hemostatic bandage of open wounds?

The chance of accidents happening in life is very high. For example, abrasions, knife cuts, lacerations, etc. are very common. Although these are minor injuries, it is best to bandage them to prevent accidents. Common hemostatic bandage methods in clinical practice include pressure bandage, plugging hemostasis, finger pressure hemostasis, flexion and padding hemostasis, blood bandage hemostasis, etc. The bandaging effect is very good. Patients can choose according to their actual situation.

1. Pressure bandage method. Pressure bandage is the most commonly used first aid method to stop bleeding. Cover the wound with a dressing and apply pressure with a bandage.

2. Blockage hemostasis method . The plugging hemostasis method uses sterilized gauze, cotton pads and other dressings to plug the wound, and then uses a bandage, triangular bandage or four-head band to apply pressure. The tightness should be appropriate to achieve hemostasis. It is often used for deeper wounds such as the neck and buttocks.

3. Finger pressure hemostasis method . Finger pressure hemostasis method uses fingers to press the upper end of the bleeding blood vessel, that is, the proximal end, so that the blood vessel closes and blocks blood flow to achieve the purpose of hemostasis. Suitable for first aid of arterial bleeding in the head, face, neck and limbs.

4. Flexion and padding method for hemostasis . When the forearm or calf is bleeding, cotton pads, towels, clothes or other objects can be placed in the elbow or armpit. Flex the joint and fix it in an 8-shape using a triangular bandage or cloth tape. Please note that this method should not be used by people with fractures or joint dislocations. This method will cause great pain to the injured and is not the first choice.

5. Blood band hemostasis method . The blood band hemostasis method is suitable for those with ruptured large blood vessels in the limbs or when other first aid measures are ineffective in stopping the bleeding. Including: ① Rubber hemostasis and band hemostasis method: commonly used air bag tourniquet or rubber tube about 1 meter long, first put a layer of cloth or single clothing on the tourniquet, then hold the tourniquet head with the left index finger and middle finger, and use the other hand to tighten the tourniquet and wrap it around the limb 2 to 3 times, and press the end of the rubber tube under the tightly wrapped rubber tube to fix it; ② Tightening hemostasis method: cloth belt, rope, triangular bandage or towel can be used instead of rubber tube in first aid, and pad it first. Then wrap the belt around the limb on the pad and tie a knot. Pass a short stick under the knot and rotate the stick to tighten the belt until bleeding stops. Finally, fix the stick on the limb.
