Body numbness after drinking

Body numbness after drinking

Numbness in the body is an abnormal condition, and there are many reasons that lead to numbness, including numbness caused by drinking. Alcohol is harmful to the human body, and these disadvantages should be taken seriously, otherwise it will lead to many side effects. Numbness in the body after drinking is a normal condition, so what is the reason for numbness in the body after drinking?

The metabolism of alcohol in the body mainly relies on alcohol dehydrogenase, which metabolizes alcohol into acetaldehyde. If the alcohol dehydrogenase is highly active and acts quickly, acetaldehyde will accumulate in the body and people will feel a rapid heartbeat, flushing, and discomfort. Europeans and Americans have a higher alcohol tolerance. Alcohol metabolism varies from person to person. Those who metabolize alcohol quickly and acetaldehyde slowly have the worst alcohol tolerance. Among 100 people, 6 or 7 belong to this type. After one glass of alcohol, they will feel uncomfortable, and after three glasses of alcohol, they may lose consciousness. Those who blush after drinking alcohol do so because acetaldehyde is metabolized slowly. People who metabolize alcohol slowly and acetaldehyde quickly are just the opposite of the above-mentioned people. They have the best alcohol tolerance, which is what people often call "massive drinkers" and "never get drunk."

The activity of alcohol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase is determined by genes. Medical research shows that Chinese and Japanese have similar genes and are not very good at drinking. People in Europe and America have better genes and are born drinkers. Whether you're a heavy drinker or not, excessive drinking can cause serious damage to your body. People who drink heavily and for a long time have a 15 to 20% chance of developing serious liver disease, which will also affect the brain, heart, bones, etc. It may also cause pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, head and neck cancer, etc. Drinking too much can cause endless harm. Some people think that they are not long-term alcoholics and do not need to worry about developing these chronic diseases. Drinking too much during the New Year can cause acute illnesses, the most common of which are pancreatitis and esophageal rupture caused by severe vomiting.

In the past, there have been cases where people died from kidney failure caused by drinking too much alcohol. Therefore, overeating during the New Year, especially drinking too much when the mood is high, can easily lead to accidents. When a person's blood alcohol concentration reaches 0.17%, the risk of driving an accident is about 50 times higher than that of a person who has not drunk alcohol. This is equivalent to a 60-kilogram person drinking 10 cans of beer, or a 70-kilogram person drinking 12 cans of beer. According to research, if the alcohol concentration in a person's blood is above 0.15%, he or she may experience movement disorders, balance disorders, and poor judgment; if the alcohol concentration in the blood is above 0.25%, it can cause confusion, slurred speech, and it can be easy to fall asleep.

Some people get hangovers because the alcohol is not completely metabolized out of the body. Drinking more than the body can bear will cause the following harms: 1. Cancer: caused directly or indirectly, such as lung cancer, laryngeal cancer, pharyngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, etc. 2. Respiratory system diseases: due to the damage of smoking to the mucosa, the structural changes of the alveoli are caused, resulting in chronic bronchitis and emphysema. 3. Cardiovascular disease: it is easy to cause hypertension, peripheral blood vessel obstruction, and memory loss. 4. Digestive system diseases: smoking inhibits pancreatic secretion, causing duodenal and gastric ulcers. 5. Impact on pregnant women: it is easy to cause miscarriage, malformed babies, infertility, premature birth, and reduced fetal weight. 6. Male reproductive system abnormalities: smoking causes sperm chromosome abnormalities, which is easy to give birth to malformed babies. Those who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day have a 42% higher chance of their children suffering from cancer than the average person. Smokers will have a lower sperm count and activity, and will reduce the blood flow to the penis, causing infertility and impotence.
