What should I do if I have a fever after transplantation?

In recent years, more and more people in our country have been suffering from leukemia. Everyone knows that leukemia not only causes physical pain to patients, but also places a heavy financial burden on families. The treatment of leukemia generally relies on bone marrow transplantation to prolong life. Some people develop a fever after undergoing a bone marrow transplant. In fact, if it is a mild fever, it is a normal phenomenon. If the high fever does not subside, you must go to the hospital in time.

If the fever during bone marrow transplantation is very serious and persists, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up and ask the doctor for advice, which will be safer. It is also best to take some special treatments for high fever, which may be safer and avoid causing adverse consequences. Pay more attention to rest and drink plenty of water.

Leukemia patients must supplement their diet with more vitamins, eat more fresh vegetables, fruits and high-protein foods, eat regularly and eat small meals frequently every day, and try to choose light foods that are easy to digest. They can supplement with more iron-containing foods, such as black fungus, black beans, sesame seeds, brown sugar, dates, etc.

Bone marrow transplantation, also known as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, is a treatment method that treats a series of diseases by intravenously infusing hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells to rebuild the patient's normal hematopoietic and immune systems. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has basically replaced the term "bone marrow transplantation" because hematopoietic stem cells come not only from the bone marrow, but also from peripheral blood that can be mobilized by hematopoietic factors, and can also come from umbilical cord blood. These hematopoietic stem cells can be used to rebuild the hematopoietic and immune systems.

1. Hematologic malignancies with high-risk prognostic factors are the main indications for transplantation

include:

①Refractory or relapsed leukemia;

② Patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia who are expected to have difficulty surviving long-term without transplantation;

③Myelodysplastic syndrome: those assessed as intermediate or high risk by the International Prognostic Scoring System;

④Myeloproliferative diseases and chronic lymphocytic leukemia;

⑤Chronic myeloid leukemia.

2. Non-malignant diseases

① Bone marrow failure diseases such as congenital aplastic anemia, acquired aplastic anemia, etc. ② Hereditary anemia such as thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelofibrosis, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, etc.

3. Other solid tumors

Such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular cancer, neuroblastoma, brain tumors, etc.

4. Others

Including combined immunodeficiency, hemophagocytic syndrome, severe autoimmune diseases, etc.
