Will falling on your knee hurt your bones?

Will falling on your knee hurt your bones?

It is easy to fall if you are not careful when walking or running. Generally, when people fall, they will hit their knees, and some even cause bleeding knees. Because there are so many joints and bones near the knee and they are closely connected, once they are injured, it will affect people's movements. Therefore, many people worry that falling on their knees will affect their bones. So, will falling on your knee break your bones?

It shouldn't be a big problem, don't be too nervous. It is recommended that you relax. As long as it does not affect the functional activities of the bones, they should be fine. If you are really worried, you can take an X-ray. If it is just an external injury, you will recover after resting for a while.

People age first from their legs. The aging of legs starts with the knees.

The knees are not the most commonly injured part of the body, but they are the weakest and most demanding joints because they often bear the entire weight of the person and because of their wide range of motion, their structure makes them more vulnerable to impact than the hip and ankle joints.

The knee joint connects the femur of the thigh to the tibia and fibula of the lower leg, and is topped by the kneecap (patella). There is a groove at the front and lower end of the femur that is suitable for placing the patella, which can fully accommodate the patella to move up and down in the groove. The cartilage on the surface of these joints can absorb shock and withstand pressure until they malfunction.

Between the femur and tibia are two large cartilage disks called the medial and lateral menisci. Cartilage, especially the meniscus, is the most vulnerable part of the human body during exercise.

What’s more problematic is that the patella itself has no blood or lymph supply, so recovery after injury is very slow. Knee injuries are caused by injury or damage to tissues that are not easy to regenerate, such as cartilage and meniscus. These tissues cannot grow quickly like muscles. To help them grow, you need to take a lot of glucosamine (aminoglucose salt, not calcium), and the effect is limited, and they are almost non-regenerative. So we shouldn't realize this until it's too late.
