How much do you know about the causes of premature heart beats

Premature heart beats are generally divided into two types: functional or organic. The causes of premature heart beats in different situations are different, and the treatments used are also different. So when it comes to premature heart beats, you must first figure out what the situation is. The following is a detailed introduction to how premature heart beats are caused.

What causes premature heart beats?

1. Functional premature beats are mostly caused by factors other than heart disease, which are the causes of premature beats in normal people. Premature beats can be caused by tension, excitement, fatigue, lack of oxygen, smoking, drinking, strong tea, coffee, etc.; certain diseases such as infection, intestinal disease or kidney stone attack, thyroid disease, electrolyte (such as blood potassium, blood magnesium, etc.) or acid-base imbalance, as well as drugs that affect the heart or cardiac catheterization interventional heart diagnosis and treatment.

But most people do not have any uncomfortable symptoms, or just feel a palpitation, a heavy beat, or a twisting sensation in the heart. Frequent premature beats usually cause people to feel discomfort such as palpitations, chest tightness, fatigue, etc. Once the cause is eliminated, premature beats will disappear on their own.

2. Organic premature heart beats are especially common in the elderly, which means that many diseases can be the cause of premature heart beats. Patients with non-heart diseases such as hyperthyroidism, anemia, hypokalemia, fever, etc. may experience premature beats. Of course, various heart diseases can cause premature beats, but premature beats are more common in heart diseases such as rheumatic heart disease, coronary artery sclerosis, myocarditis and cardiomyopathy.

Frequent premature beats on the basis of more serious heart disease may even cause angina pectoris or heart failure.
