Pancreatic cancer liver metastasis can be treated with chemotherapy

Mr. Zhang Jucai, 60 years old, is usually in good health. However, something went wrong two months ago. He often experienced upper abdominal distension and pain. At first, he did not pay much attention to it, thinking it was a digestion problem and did not take it seriously.

Until one month ago, the symptoms did not improve, but showed signs of worsening, and the body was obviously much thinner than before, so he was admitted to the hospital for examination. The ultrasound and CT examination reports showed: 1. The pancreatic body and tail cancer may be large, invading the lesser curvature of the stomach and the splenic vein, accompanied by intrahepatic metastasis, lesser curvature of the stomach, peripancreatic and hilar lymph node metastasis; 2. Gallstones; 3. Splenomegaly, the size of the mass is 8*8.3*6.5; pancreatic ductal cancer is likely.

Physical signs include: weight loss, weakness in the limbs, decreased appetite, poor appetite, paroxysmal asthma, dry cough, pain in the liver area, upper abdominal pain accompanied by abdominal distension, and loose stools.

Considering that pancreatic cancer has metastasized to the liver, surgical treatment is basically meaningless. Considering the patient's advanced age, they were afraid that the patient could not bear the side effects of chemotherapy. Therefore, he took Chinese medicine at home. However, as time went on, the symptoms became more obvious. He had heartburn and vomiting before and after meals, and his appetite decreased sharply. The tumor also grew rapidly.

The Zhang family's children couldn't bear to see Mr. Zhang Jucai in so much pain, so they took him to the hospital. Based on the above situation and considering that his physical condition was still good and his KPS (physical condition) index was above 70, the doctor recommended chemotherapy or radiotherapy for Mr. Zhang Jucai, which could alleviate his pain, improve his diet and enhance his quality of life.

With the consent of the family, the doctor developed a personalized chemotherapy plan for the elderly man, supplemented with traditional Chinese medicine treatment. The elderly man's condition has improved and he is still undergoing further treatment.
