What's the matter with frequent farting

Normal farting is a manifestation of body function. According to scientific research, a person farts about a dozen times a day. Farting is a normal physiological need and is beneficial to human health. On the contrary, if a person does not fart at all in a day, it is bad for health, as it may indicate that there may be something wrong with the gastrointestinal tract. But if you fart frequently, you should be alert, because there may be something wrong with your digestive system.

1. Normal farting is a sign of health

About 7 to 10 liters of gas enter the intestines every day, but most of it is absorbed by the blood vessels in the intestinal wall. About 0.5 liters of gas is discharged from the intestines as waste gas, most of which is carbon dioxide, hydrogen and methane. Farts are produced because some of the food we eat is not broken down. The undigested parts, including fiber and sugars, become food for E. coli. When E. coli have a full meal, they release gas, which accumulates in the body and creates a pressure. When the pressure is too great, it will be expelled from the body and form a fart.

2. Reasons for frequent farting

1. Indigestion is related to food. Eating a lot of bean foods rich in starch and protein, such as soybeans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, etc., can easily cause indigestion, especially when eaten raw, which will produce a lot of gas in the stomach and it smells very bad.

2. The stool is loose and the farts have a strong odor. If the stool is discharged, the farts will stop.

3. If the fart smells particularly strong, it will be as smelly as rotten eggs. This is because eating too much protein food causes food retention in the intestines. When retained protein food is broken down in the digestive tract, amines are produced, which are the cause of this foul smell.

4. Continuous farting is a manifestation of abnormal intestinal function, which is mainly caused by intestinal flora disorder, insufficient intestinal motility, and the inability to excrete food residues in the body in time.

5. Some people like to eat onions, ginger, raw garlic, potatoes, sweets, beans and pasta. Since these foods contain matrices that can produce a large amount of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and other gases, they often produce a lot of waste gas after eating and fart continuously.

6. High-protein diets produce a large amount of hydrogen sulfide when they spoil, so they have a particularly bad smell. If you fart a lot and they often have a foul odor, it means that you eat too much protein and your stomach and intestines are under too much burden.

7. If there is a strong odor from your farts, it is probably because you have not had a smooth bowel movement recently, for at least two or three days or even longer. The food you have eaten has fermented in the large intestine, turned black, and even formed stool, which is extremely smelly. Greasy food has difficulty moving in the intestines, which will inevitably create a foul odor that is difficult to digest and absorb.

3. Ways to reduce smelly farts

Reduce your food intake, especially the amount of protein-containing foods. Increase the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, and at the same time strengthen exercise to remove waste and toxins from the body, promote gastrointestinal motility, and maintain the healthy functioning of the gastrointestinal digestive system, which is very effective in reducing the frequency of smelly farts.
