How to reduce fever with liquor

How to reduce fever with liquor

There are many ways people can reduce fever. For example, you can use wet compresses, fever-reducing patches, or alcohol to reduce fever. Alcohol has certain limitations in cooling down. For example, alcohol is generally used to cool down the temperature when it is above 39 degrees. If it is a low fever or a low to medium fever, it is best not to use alcohol to reduce fever. You can use a fever-reducing patch instead. To use alcohol to reduce fever, just rub the alcohol on the hot area.

You can use white wine. Physical cooling is the simplest, most effective and safest cooling method for patients with high fever besides drug treatment. It is a physical cooling method of rubbing bath with 25%-50% alcohol. Liquor is also alcohol.

When using alcohol to scrub the patient's skin, it can not only stimulate the skin blood vessels of high fever patients to dilate, but also increase the skin's heat dissipation capacity. Physical cooling can also absorb and take away a large amount of heat due to its volatility, thereby lowering body temperature and relieving symptoms.

The specific method is: dip gauze or a soft towel in alcohol, wring it until half dry and gently wipe the patient's neck, chest, armpits, limbs, palms and soles of feet. The concentration of alcohol used for bathing should not be too high, otherwise using high-concentration alcohol over a large area may irritate the skin and absorb a large amount of moisture from the epidermis.

Wet compresses help lower body temperature, and hot compresses can reduce fever. However, when the patient feels very uncomfortable with the heat, cold wet compresses should be used instead. Place a cold wet towel on your forehead, wrists, and calves, and cover other parts of your body with clothing. If your body temperature rises above 39.4°C, do not use hot compresses to reduce the fever. Apply cold compress to prevent the body temperature from rising further.

When the cold compress reaches body temperature, it should be changed and repeated until the fever subsides. Sponging your entire body to allow evaporation can also have a cooling effect, using cool running water to help dissipate excess heat from your skin. Although you can sponge your entire body, special attention should be paid to areas where body temperature is higher, such as the armpits and groin. After squeezing out excess water from the sponge, wipe one area at a time, keeping the rest of the area covered with clothing. Your body heat will evaporate this water, helping to dissipate the heat.
