The shoes rubbed my heels and made them bleed

In order to be comfortable, shoes must fit your feet. However, when we wear new shoes or high heels for the first time, it is easy for the shoes to rub our feet. If the foot is rubbed mildly, it will be painful, and in severe cases, it may even cause bleeding. If the new shoes you just bought don’t fit you, you can’t just throw them away and not wear them. You can try some small methods to solve the problem. So, what should you do if your shoes rub your heels and cause them to bleed? Let’s look at the solution below.

Wine immersion method

Pour white wine (about 25 grams) into new leather shoes, shake them a few times, and leave them for an hour before wearing them. The leather will no longer be stiff and the shoes will no longer pinch your feet. If the edge of leather shoes is rubbing your feet, such as the heels, you can dry the wet paper towel, then soak it in white wine, and use a clip to fix it to the part of the leather shoe that is rubbing your feet. Leave it overnight and it will not rub your feet when you wear it the next day.

Pressing method

If the edges of new leather shoes rub your feet, you can cover the area with a wet towel for a few minutes to make it moist and soft. Then use a cylindrical object (such as a glass bottle or a rolling pin) to press it hard several times to make it smooth and flat. You can also achieve the same effect by hitting the area with a hammer.

Wedge method

A too narrow forefoot can easily rub the toes, but basically all high-heeled shoes have narrow forefoots, especially the toe cap, to modify the shape of the foot. The easiest way is to use shoe wedges to expand it. Cover it with a wet towel, then use shoe wedges to expand it, and it will fit your feet well when you wear it. In addition, the models have invented a good method where they glue the third and fourth toes together, which can significantly reduce the pressure on the toes. Freezing your high heels can also make them bigger. Take a sealed bag, fill it with half a bag of water, and place it in the forefoot of each shoe. Then put the shoes in the freezer of the refrigerator. The water will turn into ice and its volume will increase, and the shoes will also be expanded. However, this method is not suitable for suede shoes.

Tape method

The most common way is to use heel stickers. In fact, not only the heels, but anywhere that rubs the feet can be used with stickers, either on the feet or on the shoes, but fashion people generally recommend sticking them on the shoes as they are easy to fall off on the feet. In addition to special heel stickers, strip-shaped anti-friction foot stickers, medical 3M tape, and Band-Aids can all be used as anti-friction stickers. You can also apply moisturizer, vaseline, antiperspirant ointment, etc. on the heels of your shoes to form a protective layer between your feet and the shoes, but this may cause you to have difficulty wearing the shoes.

Solving the problem of rubbing feet is actually only half the solution to the problem of wearing high heels. The correct wearing method is also required. The following three tips can help you walk more steadily and comfortably.

1. When walking, land on your heel first and place your center of gravity on the outside of your foot. This will transfer the pressure on your toes.

2. Add double forefoot pads to the shoes. The soft forefoot pads have a cushioning effect and can increase the comfort when walking.

3. Try to choose shoes with rubber, leather soles, or air cushion soles to relieve the pressure concentrated on the forefoot.
