Causes of spleen distension and pain

Spleen distension and pain may be caused by kidney stones, and ureteral stones cannot be ruled out. It may also be caused by splenomegaly and splenic rupture.

1. Kidney stones: The spleen is an important lymphatic organ in the human body. It is located in the upper left part of the abdominal cavity and is connected to the kidneys. If the concentration of substances in the urine increases, stones will usually form in the kidneys. If they are not excreted from the body for a long time, it will put a certain burden on the kidneys, leading to increased pressure in the renal capsule, resulting in abdominal pain and splenic pain.

2. Ureteral stones: Ureteral stones are mainly caused by the descent of kidney stones, which block the ureters. The stones will cause local irritation, causing patients to experience intermittent lumbar colic or radiate to the spleen area causing bloating and pain, and will also be accompanied by hematuria and dysuria.

3. Enlarged spleen: If the spleen is invaded by viruses or bacteria, it will easily induce infection, causing the spleen to become enlarged and congested. The spleen will be pulled by the skin capsule and cause spleen swelling and pain.

4. Spleen rupture: If you are hit or squeezed by external force in daily life, it is likely to cause certain damage to the internal organs and spleen. After the spleen ruptures, there will be symptoms of spleen swelling or tearing pain, and even bleeding.
