Nowadays, many antique shops have a collection of purple clay teapots that are hundreds of years old. After so many years, it is not difficult to find that these purple clay teapots with extremely high collection value are still as bright as ever, without any fading. You can also take it out to make tea frequently, and the rich aroma is incomparable to ordinary tea sets. So, what is the traditional way to open a purple clay teapot? The first method: traditional way to open the pot 1. First, separate the body and lid of the newly bought purple clay teapot, place it in a pot, boil it until it is about to boil, and let it stand for 5-10 minutes. Rinse the teapot inside and out with boiling water to remove dust on the surface. Then put the teapot into an oil-free pot and add water three times the height of the pot and boil it for two hours. This will remove the earthy smell and heat in the teapot. 2. Put the tofu into the teapot, add twice the amount of water and boil for 1 hour. The gypsum contained in tofu has the effect of reducing internal heat and can also decompose the residual substances in the teapot. Alternatively, place tea leaves in the pot, simmer over low heat for a while, let it dry naturally, then pour out the water. 3. Take out the pot with cooked tofu and wash it with hot water. Cool naturally until there is no heat. Put the sugar cane head, note that it is the sugar cane head, after boiling, wait until the whole kitchen is filled with the aroma of sugar cane, and then let it boil for 5-10 minutes. 4. Cut the sugarcane you bought and put it in the pot. If you don’t have sugarcane, you can add some sugar and cook it for another hour. The natural sugars in sugarcane can make the teapot more moist than ever before. The second method: simple pot opening method 1. Use clean water and a toothbrush to clean the dust on the surface of the new kettle and the pottery chips inside the kettle. Remember not to use any detergents or disinfectants. 2. Put the pot in warm water in a pan, then boil the warm water over low or medium heat. Add tea leaves after boiling for 5 minutes. It is best to use the tea that you intend to drink from this pot. You can use tea leaves of different grades, with a quantity of 1-3 taels. Add the tea leaves and wait for 10 minutes before turning off the heat. If you find oil on the water surface or smell a strange odor when the pot is boiling in warm water, it means that the pot may have been waxed or coated with shoe polish or the clay of the pot may have been adulterated. 3. After turning off the heat and letting it cool for 5 minutes, you can turn on low to medium heat again to boil the tea. After the tea has boiled for 15 minutes, turn off the heat and use the residual heat to simmer the pot for 10 minutes. Then turn on low to medium heat to boil the tea again. After boiling for 15 minutes, cool the pot and the tea together for 3-5 hours. Then take out the pot, rinse it with clean water, and wipe the pot dry with a clean cloth. After the new pot is naturally dried, it can be used normally. The third method is pouring method 1. Clean stains: Clean the inside and outside of the kettle and its accessories, then rinse with hot water. This can remove mold, disinfect and warm the kettle. 2. Start brewing tea: Wipe the teapot while it is still hot. When brewing tea, due to the extremely high water temperature, the pores of the teapot itself will expand slightly, and water vapor will appear on the surface of the teapot. At this time, you can use a clean cotton towel to wipe the entire pot several times during the first few soaking times, or use a soft-bristled toothbrush dipped in toothpaste to thoroughly brush the inside and outside of the pot several times, then rinse off the foam with hot water to remove the earthy smell and wax. This method can use the temperature of hot water to make the pot body brighter and smoother. 3. The first few brews of this method can be flushed away and are not suitable for drinking (just a suggestion). After several infusions, the heat in the purple clay teapot is almost completely eliminated (although not as thoroughly as the first method). |
