In daily life, we often encounter pain in the gap between two teeth. There are many reasons for this situation. It may be caused by inflamed gums, or it may be caused by food getting stuck in the gap between teeth when eating. It is not removed in time, causing food to remain in the gap between teeth for too long and causing pain in the gap between teeth. In this case, we must remove the residual food in the gap between teeth in time, otherwise the pain in the gap between teeth will not improve.

The solution to toothache.

1. Take out your fingers. If the infection is not very deep, you can use your fingers to take it out. The best way is to wash your hands and use your fingers to take it out directly. This refers to the simplest situation.

2. Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth. If it's too tight, you need to find another way. If you use a toothbrush to rinse your mouth, brush out the meat residue. Try to choose a toothbrush with fine and hard bristles. Do not use toothpaste. Just use clean water to brush back and forth up and down your teeth. The process of brushing your teeth should also be gentle, not too hard, so as not to damage the teeth. When picking your teeth, be sure not to injure your gums, otherwise it may not be worth the effort.

3. Chew gum. If brushing your teeth doesn’t clean the gaps between your teeth, you can try chewing gum. Choose sugar-free chewing gum, preferably a few pieces at a time, and chew harder than usual. After a few minutes, you will find that the food stuck in the teeth will be squeezed out of the teeth by the chewing gum, and can then be easily removed with a toothpick or directly with your hands.

4. Dental floss. If it still won't come out, use dental floss or a toothpick. But it is not recommended to use toothpicks. Dental floss is a relatively safe way to clean between teeth.

How to use dental floss to pick your teeth: When eating meat, the gaps between teeth get stuck. Many people are used to using toothpicks to pick their teeth. Although the food is removed, the gaps between teeth become larger and larger. Moreover, toothpicks can easily puncture gums and cause infection, which is not environmentally friendly. This method is not recommended. In this case, dental floss is better than a toothpick. In addition, deep cleaning with dental floss before going to bed every day can also prevent the formation of dental tartar.

(1) Dental floss with stick. Take out the dental floss with a stick, hold the thin stick in your hand, and look in the mirror. Rub the wire between your teeth and into your gums without applying too much pressure. Clean one side of the space between your teeth first. Rub slowly up and down, left and right, and the dental floss should form a "C" shape with the tooth surface to clean a larger area. Then clean the other side of the gap between teeth in the same way. The order starts from the simple front teeth to the big teeth that are difficult to clean. After finishing one side, switch to the other side, and after finishing the top, switch to the bottom. When a dental floss stick becomes contaminated, replace it with a new one. It takes a lot of dental floss to clean all the teeth.

(2) Dental floss roll. First, cut a section of dental floss about 30cm long from the dental floss roll. Use two hands with the mirror in front of you. Wrap the two ends around the middle fingers of both hands, leaving 10cm in the middle to make the line taut. The middle finger controls the length of the line. During use, one middle finger loosens the line and the other middle finger winds it up to get a clean line segment. The index finger and middle finger work together to control the strength and position of the line. The cleaning method and sequence are the same as for dental floss with a stick.

5. Putting food in your teeth can relieve toothache. The key is to get the food stuck inside out as quickly as possible. But if the toothache is unbearable during this period, you might as well take the following approach.

(1) If you feel pain from meat stuck between your teeth, you can use a cotton swab to apply some medicated oil to the space between your teeth to temporarily relieve the pain.

(2) Rinse your mouth with ginger water, or place ginger directly on the area where the tooth hurts.

(3) Take a small amount of Yunnan Baiyao and apply it to the painful tooth to relieve toothache.

(4) Pour a cup of warm water, add salt, and gargle with the salt water to relieve pain.

6. Seek medical attention. Long-term food congestion can cause tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontitis and other diseases, which should be treated promptly. If all methods fail to work and flossing cannot clean the mouth, it is recommended that you go to the dentist for a check-up as soon as possible, otherwise it will become inflamed. Especially if the gums have begun to become congested and swollen, it is recommended to immediately seek help from a professional dentist to clean the teeth, and let the hospital and doctor use professional tools to remove food debris from the teeth to avoid causing greater oral problems.
