There is a pustule inside the eyelid

As the saying goes, eyes are windows to the soul, so we must protect our eyes in daily life. If we overuse our eyes or do not pay attention to eye hygiene, it is likely to cause various eye diseases. The most common one is myopia. However, myopia can be solved by wearing glasses. But if it is other diseases such as pustules in the eyelids, you need to go to the hospital for treatment. If the situation is not serious, you can use anti-inflammatory eye drops yourself. If the condition cannot be alleviated, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment.

1. Caused by stye

Stye, also known as sty and hordeolum, is an acute suppurative inflammation of the sebaceous glands or meibomian glands near the eyelash follicles. Stye is divided into two types: internal hordeolum and external hordeolum. There are two kinds of glands on the eyelids. The sebaceous glands at the root of the eyelashes open into the hair follicles. The meibomian glands are buried in the tarsal plates near the conjunctiva and open into the eyelid margins. Stye is an acute suppurative inflammation of these two glands. The bacteria that cause styes are mostly Staphylococcus aureus.

Treatment methods: early moist heat compress or magnetic therapy; surgical incision; for stubborn and recurrent cases.

Chalazion

Chalazion is a chronic inflammatory granuloma of the meibomian glands caused by obstruction of the meibomian gland drainage duct and retention of secretions. Also known as chalazion. It is a common disease that can affect both children and adults. The disease progresses slowly and may recur. A firm, painless lump may be felt on the eyelid with raised skin overlying the eye. When the disease occurs in the elderly and tends to recur, it needs to be differentiated from meibomian gland carcinoma.

Treatment:

1. For early and smaller chalazions, hot compresses or physical therapy and massage therapy can be used to promote dissipation and absorption. Small cysts do not require treatment.

2. Injecting 0.3-0.5 ml of prednisolone around or into the cyst can promote its absorption.

3. Large chalazions can be removed surgically. During the operation, the cyst wall must be removed completely to prevent recurrence.

Tips

When the disease occurs, use eye drops for anti-inflammatory treatment in time, and apply local hot compresses for 15 minutes each time, 2-3 times a day. Generally no medication is needed. If pus spots are formed, don't be too nervous. Be careful not to squeeze them yourself to prevent the spread of inflammation. Go to the hospital's ophthalmology department for incision and drainage. This is a minor operation in the ophthalmology clinic, so don't be too nervous. Pay attention to eye hygiene, wash your hands frequently, and do not rub your eyes with your hands.
