Symptoms and hazards of high blood viscosity

High blood viscosity is a very common disease in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the patient's physical health, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. People need to seek medical treatment in time when they find related symptoms and choose appropriate treatment methods according to their physical condition to recover health as soon as possible. People need to learn more about this.

1 When blood flows in blood vessels, internal friction will inevitably occur between the various molecules and particles inside it and between the blood and the blood vessel walls. This internal friction is the reason for the viscosity of blood. Once the viscosity increases, blood flow slows down, and a large amount of lipids, detached cells, etc. are easily deposited on the blood vessel endothelium. Fibrin, platelets, etc. in the blood take the opportunity to gather on the foreign matter, causing the blood vessel lumen to narrow and even form a blood clot, which hinders the normal flow of blood and further increases blood viscosity, forming a vicious circle.

2 Clinical observations have found that many common clinical symptoms, such as headache, heaviness of the head, swelling of the head, dizziness, chest tightness, numbness, tingling, weakness, paroxysmal blurred vision, diplopia, transient aphasia, hearing loss, tinnitus, memory loss, drowsiness, ataxia, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, depression or irritability, are also related to abnormal blood viscosity; and many of these symptoms appear as the blood viscosity increases and are relieved as the blood viscosity decreases. Therefore, blood viscosity measurement can provide a hint and judgment on the appearance and disappearance of the above symptoms.

3A large number of studies have shown that many common and frequently occurring diseases that endanger human health, such as coronary heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, cerebral thrombosis, hypertension, occlusive arteriosclerosis, thromboangiitis obliterans, congenital heart disease, cor pulmonale, congestive heart failure, altitude sickness, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, malignant tumors, burns, shock and chronic liver and kidney diseases, are all related to increased blood viscosity.

Some scholars have found in their research on cerebrovascular diseases that the blood viscosity of patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease is significantly increased, while the blood viscosity of patients with hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease does not increase or even decreases; the blood viscosity of patients with acute myocardial infarction, especially high shear viscosity, is significantly increased, while the blood viscosity of patients with severe angina pectoris is not significantly increased. There are certain differences between the two.
