How to remove old yellow stains on white clothes?

People wear all kinds of white clothes, such as white T-shirts, white shirts, white coats and white skirts, etc. These white clothes will make people look younger and give people a clean and refreshing feeling, but many people will find that white clothes do not last as long as clothes of other colors. One important reason is that white clothes turn yellow easily, especially if they are left for a long time, old yellow stains will appear on the white clothes. Here are some tips on how to remove them.

How to remove old yellow stains on white clothes?

1. After washing white clothes with laundry detergent, rinse them clean and apply soap again. Do not rinse them this time. Instead, put them directly into a clean transparent plastic bag (or fresh-keeping bag) and seal it. Dry them in the sun for 2 hours, then rub and rinse them. They will be as white as new. If there are more yellowed parts, you can turn the plastic bag over after an hour to ensure that every part of the clothes is evenly exposed to the sun. This soap exposure method is sealed in a plastic bag, which is different from the "avoid sun exposure as much as possible" method in how to prevent white clothes from turning yellow. One is direct exposure, and the other is sealed exposure. The author has personally tested this method several times and found it to be very effective and harmless to clothes, so it is recommended.

2. Combination of beer and blue ink. First, make sure the clothes are clean, and then proceed with the regular steps. Fill a washbasin with half water; pour in half a bottle of beer, the ratio of water to beer is 2:1; drop in 1/3 of the blue ink, and the water should be slightly blue; put the washed yellowed white clothes in the basin and soak for half an hour; finally rinse with clean water.

3. Disinfectant bleaching method. Soak in disinfectant or bleach mixed with water. When using this method, you should pay attention to the ratio of disinfectant to clean water and the soaking time. Disinfectant has a strong cleaning power, but it may cause some damage to clothes. It is recommended that after rinsing, it is best to soak the clothes in clean water for 15 to 30 minutes to reduce the damage of the disinfectant to the clothes.

4. Rice washing water method. Yellowed silk clothing can be soaked in clean rice water. Change the water every day and the yellow color will fade away after two or three days.

5. Washing method with radish soup. If white clothes have a lot of dirt, you can use carrot soup to wash them and they will be as white as new.

6. Spinach water washing method. White clothes that have turned yellow can be soaked in spinach soup soaked in hot water and then washed to effectively remove the yellow stains.

7. Soaking method in orange peel water. When washing white clothes, you can put orange peels in a pot and heat them to boiling. Use the yellow soup to soak and scrub the clothes, and the clothes will be as white as new.

8. Lemon Law. Lemon has a bleaching effect, and rinsing clothes with water added with lemon juice also has a bleaching effect. Especially when washing white socks, put 2 to 3 slices of lemon in hot water, then soak the washed white socks for 10 minutes, the socks will be easily washed.

9. Freezing method. Put the washed clothes into a fresh-keeping bag and put them in the freezer of the refrigerator, and take them out after about an hour. This method is not only applicable to white clothes, but also to other light-colored clothes.

10. Control the water temperature. White clothes are best washed in cold water, or with a rinse water temperature close to the wash temperature. For example, after washing white clothes in warm detergent or soapy water, it is best to use water of similar temperature for the first rinse. If clothes are put into cold water immediately after washing, the detergent contained in the fibers will be surrounded by the sudden cooling and contraction of the clothes, making them difficult to wash off. If detergent is left in clothes, it will cause the clothes to turn yellow. Wipe the stains and rinse with detergent the next day.
