What causes cheilitis

What causes cheilitis

Cheilitis, as the name suggests, is inflammation of the lips. Don’t underestimate cheilitis, it can affect our daily eating, and if the pain is too severe it can even affect our sleep. Generally, cheilitis is caused by getting too hot. Take some heat-reducing medicine and avoid spicy food, and it will get better after a period of time. You should correct the bad habit of biting your lips, do not apply low-quality lipsticks and lip balms, try to avoid direct sunlight, and do not touch your lips frequently with your hands, as this may cause bacterial infection.

① Traditional Chinese medicine believes that cheilitis is mostly caused by the upward rush of heat from the stomach meridian or the upward fumigation of blood from the spleen meridian. This disease is caused by the lack of moisture in the lips and the upward spread of internal heat. The main symptoms are redness, swelling, erosion, rupture, exudation, crusting and desquamation of the lip mucosa. The symptoms may be mild or severe and do not heal over time. It is mostly related to factors such as cold, dryness, sunlight exposure, tobacco and alcohol stimulation, as well as lip licking, lip biting, and playing musical instruments.

②The causes of cheilitis are most common in the following situations : Simple cheilitis: Often in a dry climate, under the attack of cold wind, the moisturizing property of the lip mucosa becomes poor, and it is easy to peel, flake and crack. Desquamative cheilitis: It is often caused by physical allergies and is common in patients with atopic dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis. It may be related to sunlight exposure or contact with irritants, and is more common on the lower lip. In addition, the occurrence or aggravation of some cheilitis is also related to emotional or mental factors. In short, an unclear cause does not mean that there is no cause. The specific causes and mechanisms of many diseases still need further observation and research by scientists and medical workers.

③The symptoms of cheilitis are chronic skin inflammation caused by non-bacterial infection, which is caused by the body's immune regulation disorder . Recommended external application: Binghuangfule Ointment and Lincomycin Vitamin B6 Cream. It is best to apply both ointments at the same time. In combination with oral administration: Jinshierkang and Kushen capsules to supplement multiple vitamins, clear away heat and dampness. Correct bad habits, do not lick or bite your lips, do not touch or pick your lips with your hands, and do not tear the skin with your hands.

So let's see what to do if you have cheilitis:

① If you have cheilitis, you must first pay enough attention to it! Correct bad living habits, smoke less, drink less, do not use antibiotics at will, do not use inferior or unsuitable lipstick, and do not blindly get "lip tattoos". Avoid factors that may cause allergic reactions. Change the habit of biting lips and tongue to avoid mucous membrane trauma.

②To cure allergic cheilitis, the key is to improve the patient's allergic constitution

First, improve allergic constitution, desensitize safely and effectively, enhance cellular immunity, and fundamentally block the occurrence of allergies.

Second, deeply eliminate inflammation, actively treat lip inflammation, and prevent the damaged area from further infection and deterioration by the outside world.

Third, the lack of B vitamins can easily lead to allergies, especially when there is a lack of vitamin B2, the body's metabolism will be disordered, and cheilitis, angular cheilitis, dermatitis, glossitis, seborrheic dermatitis, conjunctivitis and keratitis may easily occur. Foods rich in vitamin B2: milk, animal liver and kidney, brewing yeast, cheese, green leafy vegetables, fish, and eggs. If your diet is unbalanced, you must supplement B vitamins in time.
