What is the reason for the left kidney swelling

Kidneys are very important to us. Generally speaking, pain in the kidney area cannot be ignored. It may be a signal that some serious disease has occurred in the body. At this time, it is best to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment to avoid delaying the disease. So what is the cause of left kidney soreness and swelling? Let’s talk about some of the reasons that may easily cause left kidney soreness and swelling. You can compare them.

Pain in the kidney area is usually accompanied by urinary tract symptoms, such as frequent, urgent, and painful urination. Sometimes individual patients have a poor perception of pain. Chronic lumbar muscle strain, lumbar spine disease, etc. can cause pain in this area. If the pain is really in the kidney area, you can go to a regular hospital for a kidney ultrasound and blood test to check whether it is normal.

What are Kidneys

The kidneys are important excretory organs in the human body. Their main functions are to filter urine, excrete metabolic waste, and regulate the body's electrolyte and acid-base balance. The kidneys have endocrine functions and participate in regulating blood pressure, red blood cell production and calcium metabolism by producing renin, erythropoietin, prostaglandins, 1,25-(OH)2D3, etc. Therefore, if the structure and function of the kidney are abnormal, the above normal functions may be affected, resulting in a series of clinical symptoms.

Main features of the kidneys

The kidney is a paired solid organ, reddish brown in color, which can be divided into inner and outer edges, front and back surfaces, and upper and lower ends. The outer edge of the kidney is convex, and the middle part of the inner edge is concave, which is called the renal hilum, which is the gateway for the renal pelvis, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic vessels to enter and exit. These structures entering and exiting the renal hilum are wrapped in connective tissue and are collectively called the renal pedicle. There is a larger cavity inside the kidney from the renal hilum, called the renal sinus. The renal sinus is surrounded by the renal parenchyma and contains the renal artery, renal vein, lymphatic vessels, renal calyces, renal calyces, renal pelvis and adipose tissue.

Each kidney is made up of more than 1 million nephrons. Each nephron consists of three parts: the glomerulus, the renal capsule, and the renal tubule. The glomerulus and the renal capsule form the renal corpuscle.

What are the methods of nourishing the kidney?

Be wary of medications: Both Chinese and Western medicines have some side effects. Some medications can damage the kidneys if taken regularly, so you must be vigilant when taking medications, read the instructions carefully, and consult relevant experts if you need to take a certain medication for a long time.

Sleep nourishes the kidneys: Adequate sleep plays an important role in the biochemistry of qi and blood, and the maintenance of kidney essence. Clinically, it is found that many patients with renal failure have experienced staying up late, excessive fatigue, and lack of sleep. Therefore, do not stay up late too much, develop good work and rest habits, go to bed early and get up early, which is beneficial to the maintenance of kidney essence.
