What are the effects of bayberry wine?

Eating bayberries soaked in white wine in midsummer will make you feel refreshed and relieve heat and greasiness. When you have a stomachache, drinking it can stop diarrhea and it has an astringent effect. It also has medical functions such as helping food, removing dampness, relieving heat, promoting fluid production and relieving cough, aiding digestion, keeping out the cold, stopping diarrhea, diuresis, preventing and treating cholera, health care, and anti-cancer.

How to make bayberry wine?

1. Remove the leaves and stems of fresh bayberry and rinse with clean water;

2. Pour the bayberry into cold boiled water, the water should cover the bayberry;

3. Add a tablespoon of salt and stir it to dissolve. Slowly, you can see small white worms crawling out of some bayberries.

4. Soak for 20 minutes, take out the bayberry, and rinse it again with boiled water;

5. Use kitchen paper to gently absorb the moisture on the surface of the bayberry, then spread it flat on a container that helps ventilation, and place it in a ventilated place to dry thoroughly;

6. Prepare a clean, water-free, oil-free, sealable wide-mouth glass bottle, pour the dried bayberries into the bottle, and then add rock sugar;

7. Finally, pour in the white wine, cover with a lid, and place in a cool and ventilated place. Shake the container every two days, and it can be consumed after brewing for more than 20 days.

Warm reminder: There is no fixed ratio among bayberry, white wine and rock sugar (beginners can make it according to the ratio of 4:5:1), but the white wine must cover the bayberry by 1-2 cm, so that the bayberry will not deteriorate. If you like a sweeter taste, you can add more rock sugar to the wine.

How to choose wine for soaking?

When soaking bayberry wine, it is advisable to use liquor brewed from pure grains with an angle of 45° or above. According to the taste preferences of Jiangxi people, it is better to choose a light-fragrance type. Many citizens prefer to buy bulk liquor when making bayberry wine for economic reasons, because bulk liquor is unpackaged, the price is more affordable and the cost-effectiveness is high.
