What medicine is effective for enteritis

Many people will develop enteritis without knowing it. Most cases of enteritis are caused by not paying attention to diet and not adjusting daily routine. After suffering from enteritis, you should pay attention to proper supplementation of some anti-inflammatory and bactericidal drugs, but you must first find out the cause to see what type of enteritis it is, because enteritis can turn from acute enteritis to chronic enteritis.

Common methods

Fluid replacement and correction of electrolyte and acidosis

For those who are mildly dehydrated and do not vomit severely, oral rehydration can be given. The WHO-recommended oral rehydration formula is sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, potassium chloride, glucose or sucrose, plus water. For patients with severe dehydration or vomiting, normal saline, isotonic sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride solutions, and glucose can be given intravenously.

Drugs that reduce intestinal motility and secretion

Atropine, belladonna, and propantheline can be used in small amounts to reduce intestinal motility, relieve pain, and stop diarrhea. Chlorpromazine can also be used. It has a sedative effect and can inhibit excessive secretion of intestinal mucosa caused by enterotoxins, thereby reducing the frequency and amount of bowel movements.

Treatment principles for acute enteritis

(1) Remove the triggering factor, rest in bed, and eat light, easily digestible food.

(2) If the pathogen is found, medication should be used according to the drug sensitivity test, or berberine 0.1-0.2g or PPA 0.5-1.0g should be used, 3-4 times a day, orally.

(3) For symptomatic treatment, atropine can be used for abdominal pain. Dehydrated patients should be given fluids, and attention should be paid to correcting electrolyte imbalance and acidosis. Patients in shock should be treated as if they were in shock.

(4) Traditional Chinese medicine treatment.

Diet and health care

1. Most patients with chronic enteritis are weak and have poor resistance, so they should pay more attention to food hygiene, not eat raw, cold, hard or spoiled food, not drink alcohol, and not eat spicy and irritating condiments.

2. Low in fat and fiber. Foods that contain too much fat are not only difficult to digest, but their laxative effect often aggravates diarrhea symptoms. Therefore, patients should not eat fried, pan-fried, raw, cold, or high-fiber foods.
