What happens if you eat an unripe mango?

Mangoes taste very sweet when they are ripe and have high therapeutic value. However, if you eat mangoes when they are not ripe, some of the irritating ingredients in them will cause adverse reactions to the oral mucosa, especially some substances in them can even cause allergies in people. Therefore, it is best not to eat them when they are not ripe. If the mangoes you bought are not ripe, you can leave them for a while so that they can mature naturally.

What happens if you eat unripe mango?

When mangoes are unripe, white juice will ooze out from the fruit stem. It is estimated that this may be the reason why people are allergic to mangoes. However, unripe green mangoes can be eaten, but the taste is definitely not as good as ripe mangoes. Unripe mangoes will taste a bit astringent and may be very sour.

There are many ways to eat unripe mangoes. You can wash the unripe mangoes and cut them into pieces. If you like sweet food, you can sprinkle some sugar on them. If you like salty food, you can sprinkle some salt on them. After marinating for about 3 days, you can eat them, and they will be very crispy. If you prefer spicy food, you can also add some chili peppers for a different flavor.

In addition, there are times when you can’t eat mangoes.

1. Mangoes cannot be eaten after a full meal, and also cannot be eaten when eating spicy foods such as garlic, otherwise, it can cause jaundice. At present, the mechanism is still unclear, but this is common experience. According to modern reports, there have been cases of nephritis caused by eating too much mango, so we should be careful. Moreover, mango leaves or juice can cause dermatitis in people with allergies, so be careful.

2. People with cold cough (itchy throat and white phlegm) should avoid eating to prevent itching in the throat. Asthma patients should also follow the doctor's advice and refrain from eating it. In fact, not only Chinese medicine has such advice, but Western medicine also includes mango in the list of food taboos for asthma. According to my personal experience, even if you are not sensitive, eating several mangoes in one go will cause you to feel like you have lost your voice.

3. Dampness is one of the six causes of disease in traditional Chinese medicine. Skin diseases such as eczema and pus-filled sores, gynecological diseases such as leucorrhea, and internal medical diseases such as edema and athlete's foot can all be described as "dampness". People with damp constitutions who eat damp and toxic foods such as mangoes may make the situation worse. Therefore, when you find that your body is severely damp, try not to eat mangoes.
