 How to preserve bee pupae

Bee pupae are the eggs of bees. At this time, the protein content is extremely high, and there are many ways to make them. The bee pupae after making are delicious and are loved by many people. The fresher the bee pupae are, the better they taste and the higher their nutritional value. Therefore, there are many things to pay attention to when preserving bee pupae. Of course, bee pupae are not suitable for long-term storage.

How to preserve bee pupae:

When it comes to the preservation method of bee pupae, there are many methods in life, including freezing. This method is simple and quick, and many people use this method. The preservation method steps are: put the bee pupae picked out from the beehive into a plastic bag, then squeeze out the air inside, seal the bag tightly and put it in the refrigerator for storage.

The second preservation method is: salt boiling

First, prepare the salt water solution. The correct ratio is 1000 grams of water plus 0.5 kilograms of salt. Then add the bee pupae into the salt water solution. The salt water must be soaked in the bee pupae. After boiling over high heat for about 10 minutes, you can pick them up, put them in a clean place to dry the moisture, and then put them in a fresh-keeping bag and seal them.

Good to save.

The third method of preservation is to soak it in wine and alcohol:

First, choose a high-proof liquor, and then add the bee pupae you need to preserve. The liquor should be soaked in the bee pupae. This will help isolate the air and bacteria and facilitate preservation. However, this preservation method has a disadvantage, that is, the bee pupae must be used up within 24 hours, or processed separately. There is a time limit, so everyone should remember it.

How long can bee pupae be preserved?

1. Cryopreservation

Cryopreservation is currently the most common and best method. Put the bee pupae picked out from the beehive into a plastic bag, squeeze out the air inside, seal the bag tightly and store it in the refrigerator. But this storage time cannot be too long.

2. Cook with salt

The correct ratio of saline solution is 1:2, that is, 1kg water: 0.5kg salt. Then add bee pupae into the salt water solution. The salt water must be enough to soak the bee pupae. After boiling over high heat for about 10 minutes, you can take them out and put them in a clean place to dry them. Then you can put them in a fresh-keeping bag and seal them for storage.

3. Soak in wine and alcohol

First, choose a high-proof liquor, then add the bee pupae you need to preserve. The liquor should be soaked in the bee pupae to isolate the air, prevent contamination and discoloration, and facilitate preservation. After filling, seal and store temporarily. But there is a downside to this method of preservation: it is time-limited. The temporary storage time should not exceed 48 hours. It is best to use up the bee pupae within 24 hours or process them separately.

4. Steaming pupae

Place the bee pupae in a steamer covered with clean gauze and steam them over high heat for 8-10 minutes to inactivate the tyrosinase in the pupae and coagulate the protein. Then take it out and place it in a sanitary ventilated room to dry. When there is no moisture on the surface of the pupae, pick out the pupae with incomplete or damaged limbs, and seal them for storage. If stored at room temperature, the shelf life is 1-2 days; if placed in the refrigerator, the shelf life will be slightly longer.

5. Soak in preservative liquid

Prepare the preservative solution with the following formula: 3.0% table salt, 6% boiled sucrose solution, 0.2% sodium benzoate and 0.1% citric acid. Immerse the bee pupae in the preservative solution with the liquid surface covering the pupae. The shelf life can reach 7 days.
