What causes herpes

Herpes is caused by the herpes virus. There are eight types of herpes viruses that cause herpes in humans, namely herpes simplex virus type 1, herpes simplex virus type 2, varicella-zoster virus, human herpes virus type 4, cytomegalovirus, roseola virus, HHV-7, and simian virus. Among these herpes viruses, the most common are varicella-zoster virus and herpes simplex virus.

The herpes virus mainly infects our skin and mucous membranes, such as the mouth, skin, eyes, etc. The herpes virus has the main characteristics of a long incubation period and repeated attacks, and it is contagious, so when we see a patient with herpes, we need to pay special attention. Next, let us understand how herpes is transmitted.

1. Mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse. 2. Physical triggers may cause individual differences. Factors such as fatigue, concurrent genital infections, menstruation, alcohol abuse, strong sunlight exposure to the infected area, conditions that cause people to have deficient or incomplete immune systems, long-term stress, and ultraviolet rays (in rare cases) can all trigger a recurrence of herpes. 3. Friction or damage to the skin. The virus can invade the human body through broken skin or mucous membranes, grow and multiply at the entrance first, and then spread through the blood.

Regarding the transmission method of herpes disease, we should do

1. Avoid unclean sexual intercourse and improper sexual activities. Patients with genital herpes are absolutely prohibited from having sexual relations with anyone. 2. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during treatment, and the spouse should also be examined if necessary. 3. When caring for local damage, pay attention to keeping it clean and dry to prevent secondary infection. 4. After recovery or if there is a relapse, those who have recovered should pay attention to preventing colds, chills, fatigue and other inducing factors to reduce relapse. 5. Friends who have recovered or have signs of relapse need to arrange their work and rest schedules properly and regulate their diet to avoid infection between sexual partners.

The above are the ways herpes is transmitted. We can see that herpes is a contagious disease. In addition to paying attention to personal rest and keeping clean, patients infected with herpes should especially pay attention to not having sexual intercourse. If you have sexual intercourse, you will transmit the virus to your sexual partner and it will also aggravate your disease.
