The commonly used treatments for domestic marine filariasis are 7-day treatment for Bancroftian filariasis and 4-day treatment for Malayan filariasis. After taking the medicine, patients may suffer from allergic reactions due to the death of a large number of microfilariae, and experience symptoms such as fever, chills, and headache, which should be treated in a timely manner. In order to reduce the side effects of sea cucumbers, sea cucumber salt is now widely used in prevention and control work. After consumption for half a year, the microfilaria-positive rate in medium and low endemic areas can be reduced to below 1%, and the side effects are mild. (2) Albendazole, taken twice daily, kills adult worms but has no direct effect on microfilariae. (3) In recent years, my country has successfully developed a new antifilarial drug, furazolidinone, which has a killing effect on both microfilariae and adult worms and has a good effect on both types of filariasis. The efficacy of it on Bancroftian filariasis is better than that of Haiqunsheng.

What medicine can kill filarial worms? For symptomatic treatment of acute lymphadenitis, local care should be given to the affected area, such as foot care, cleaning of the infected area, timely administration of antibacterial drug treatment, and application of antifungal ointment on the feet every day. For patients with skin swelling, in addition to giving Haiqunsheng to kill parasites, they can also combine traditional Chinese medicine and mulberry leaf injection with bandage therapy or baking bandage therapy.
