What is the use of conditioner

Basically everyone has hair. Hair is a tissue that covers the top of the head and can be used to protect the scalp. When we wash our hair, we use conditioner in addition to shampoo. Shampoo can clean the hair, while conditioner can nourish the hair. There are many types of conditioners, and the effects of conditioners from different brands are different. So what is the use of conditioner?

Conditioner, also known as conditioner, is usually used in pairs with shampoo. After shampooing, apply an appropriate amount of conditioner evenly on the hair, gently rub it for about one minute, and then rinse it with clean water. Therefore, some people call it rinse-out conditioner, which is a hair cosmetic.

Hair toners are divided into two types based on their appearance: transparent type and emulsion type. Emulsion products are more common on the market.

Shampoo uses anionic and nonionic surfactants as the main raw materials to provide cleaning and foaming effects, while the main raw material of conditioner is cationic surfactants. After washing your hair with shampoo, use conditioner, which can neutralize the anionic molecules remaining on the surface of the hair, forming a monomolecular film, making tangled hair smooth and easy to comb.

It is generally believed that hair has a negative charge. After washing your hair with shampoo (mainly anionic detergents, soap also belongs to this category), the hair will have more negative charges, thus generating static electricity, making it inconvenient to comb your hair. When using conditioner, its main ingredient, cationic quaternary ammonium salt, can neutralize the anionic molecules remaining on the surface of the hair and leave a uniform monomolecular film. This wonderful thing will bring a series of benefits to the hair: softness, glossiness, easy combing, anti-static, and can repair the mechanical damage of the hair and the damage caused by chemical perm, electric perm, and hair dye to a certain extent.

The surface of healthy hair is composed of a complete set of hair scales and naturally secreted oils to form a protective film of the hair. Excessive washing, perming, dyeing, and sun exposure will destroy this natural protective film, leading to water loss in the cortex, making the hair dry and losing elasticity and softness. Only by using conditioner regularly can a lasting protective film be formed on the hair to protect it from damage.
