What medicine can kill root nematodes

The characteristic of root-knot nematodes is that they are dioecious, and are also known as root-knot nematodes. The larvae of root-root nematodes are slender and very harmful to vegetables. They have a wide range of hosts and can survive for a whole year even without a host. Once vegetables are damaged by root nematodes, there will be fewer fruits, abnormal leaf color, short plants, or even plant death. The harm caused by root-root nematodes is so serious that we should know what medicine can kill them.

1. Morphological characteristics:

Root-knot nematodes are dioecious. The larvae are slender worm-like. The male adult is linear, with a slightly rounded tail tip, colorless and transparent, and measures 1.0~1.5×0.03~0.04 mm. The female adult is pear-shaped, mostly buried in the host tissue, and is 0.44~1.59×0.26~0.81 mm in size. The perineal pattern of the female of this species is nearly circular, with a low and round arch, slightly serrated rings near the center and on both sides of the dorsal fan, the cuticle near the anus folded inward to form an obvious fold, and many short lines above the anus. These features are significantly different from the perineal patterns of other root-knot nematodes recorded in this genus. In addition, the larvae have a longer invasion period than other root-knot nematodes. The oral slope of females, males and larvae is longer; the dorsal esophageal gland opening is farther away from the base of the oral slope; the excretory pore of females is located posteriorly, etc., which are different from the similar species M. incognita. The oocysts are usually brown, with a rough surface and often many tiny grains of sand attached to them.

2. Living habits:

Root-knot nematodes are mostly distributed in the 0-20 cm soil, especially in the 3-9 cm soil where the largest number of nematodes are found. They often overwinter in the soil or manure as eggs or second-instar larvae with plant debris, or invade through the tender roots as second-instar larvae when the environment is suitable the following year, and reproduce and cause damage. It can cause damage all year round in a solar greenhouse. Nematodes can be spread through infected soil or seedlings and irrigation water. When the soil temperature is 25~30℃ and the soil moisture is 40%~70%, nematodes reproduce very quickly and easily accumulate in large quantities in the soil. They stop moving below 10℃ and die within 10 minutes at 55℃. It can survive for one year without a host.

3. What medicine can be used to kill root-root nematodes?

You can choose 10% chlorpyrifos, 3% milal, 5% yishubao and other granules, evenly spread 3 to 5 kg per mu and then plow into the soil. You can also use one of the above-mentioned agents, 2 to 4 kg per mu, and apply it in the furrows on both sides of the planting row, or apply it into the planting holes, with a dosage of 1 to 2 kg per mu. Mix the soil after application to prevent the roots from direct contact with the agent. Avermectin has a good preventive effect on root nematodes.
