Hand brew coffee maker operation steps

Hand-poured coffee pot is a popular method of brewing coffee. Its production method and coffee flavor are quite knowledgeable and it is also quite popular in today's world. More than a hundred years ago, a German woman invented the coffee filtration method, which changed the history of drinking coffee. The operation steps of hand-poured coffee pot are also relatively simple. Let's take a look at some methods of hand-poured coffee pot.

1. Fold the filter paper: Take out a fan-shaped filter paper, one side of which is pressed by a machine and is thicker. (Filter paper selection: filter paper is divided into large and small models, according to the selected filter cup, and also divided into bleached and original pulp filter paper. The bleached filter paper has less pulp smell, so we choose bleached filter paper)

2. Fold up the thickest side and flatten it

Open the filter paper, align the two center lines, and press lightly. (Don’t press the two fans together to form a fold line!)

1. Place the folded filter paper in the filter cup 2. Weigh the coffee beans: weigh 20g of coffee beans (some say that you can use 10g for one cup, and 15g or a little less than 20g for two cups. This is actually not in line with the extraction principle. If you want to get a lighter coffee, you can reduce the amount. However, it is incorrect to say that you can reduce the amount of coffee beans for two cups of coffee. Players can try it themselves. The taste difference is really big)

3. Grinding :

4. Heat the water:

It is best to use a thermometer to measure the water temperature to make it accurate. The water temperature range for hand brewing is relatively large, ranging from 83 to 95, but the taste of different water temperatures will definitely be very different. Different beans and different roasting degrees require different water temperatures, so players need to adjust themselves to find the water temperature that suits them best.

5. Wet filter paper:

Pour hot water evenly on the filter paper to make it completely wet and stick tightly to the filter cup, then pour out the hot water in the sharing pot. (Many people are not used to wet filter paper and think it is unnecessary. In fact, the biggest functions of wet filter paper are three: 1. Wash away impurities and paper smell on the filter paper 2. Make the filter paper stick to the filter cup 3. Warm the filter cup and sharing pot)

6. Pour the ground coffee powder into the filter cup and gently tap it to flatten it.

7. Steaming:

Evenly pour water on the coffee powder, about 1.5 times the weight of the coffee powder in grams (be sure to pour it thoroughly, but don't let too much water drip into the sharing pot). There is no fixed time for steaming. The fresh coffee powder will start to absorb water and expand after the water is poured. When all the coffee powder has absorbed water, the expansion stops and the steaming process stops, then you can add water. (Whether or not the coffee powder expands, or how much it expands, has a lot to do with the degree of roasting and freshness of the coffee. The fresher the coffee powder, the more it expands, and the darker the roasting, the more it expands.)

8. Water injection:

For beginners, the most important thing when pouring water is to be even. There is no need to deliberately pursue any particular method of pouring. As long as it is even, it will not be unpalatable. It is recommended to start pouring water from the midpoint, and then draw concentric circles in one direction until the periphery, but do not pour it onto the filter paper, and then draw concentric circles until the center, and repeat this process. The water flow should remain stable. The water pouring can be divided into two or three times. Many players have controversy over whether to divide the water into sections in the middle. As for the different aesthetics of the taste, I have not tasted it, so I will not elaborate on it here. Players can try it on their own.

9. Complete the extraction:

After the extraction is completed, about 240ml of coffee liquid is obtained. Finish pouring water, remove the filter cup, and the sharing pot is our delicious coffee.

10. Enjoy Coffee:

Pour the coffee from the sharing pot into a warm coffee cup and enjoy a cup of warm and delicious coffee.
