What should I do if there is body odor on the quilt?

In real life, body odor is a common physical disease for many people. It usually occurs under the armpits of the human body and can easily emit a strong body odor. Especially in a high temperature environment, the smell will be more obvious. In addition to the body odor itself, clothes and quilts will also be stained with the smell of body odor. The body odor of quilts can be removed by drying them in the sun, or washing them frequently.

What should I do if there is body odor on the quilt?

1. Sprinkle some perfume on the quilt every day.

2. Take the quilt out to dry in the sun every day when there is plenty of sunshine. This can remove the odor and use ultraviolet rays to sterilize.

3. Wash it every few days, but it’s more troublesome

4. Individuals should pay attention to it. If conditions permit, take a shower once a day or once every three days. You can also use a wet towel to soak in soapy water or bath liquid and then scrub your armpits every day. This method is more effective.

Other ways to remove odor from your quilt

The first type: silk quilt

Putting it in a ventilated place and letting it blow is a good idea. Generally, if you turn on the ventilation, the bacteria will disappear in one to two weeks. But the effect will be better if it is dried in the sun, because the increased temperature will accelerate the replacement of air in the pores. Except for the summer when the exposure time should not be too long, it can be exposed to the sun for 2 hours in other non-direct sunlight conditions. But not too long, because mulberry silk will darken under ultraviolet rays. So some people dry their silk quilts every day, and after a year they find that the quilts are becoming less and less warm and thinner. This is the reason.

The second type: fiber quilt

Fiber quilts are the cheapest quilts and do not require special maintenance, but it is recommended to expose them to the sun regularly to achieve the antibacterial and dehumidifying effects. It can be washed by water or machine, with neutral detergent or soap powder, and washed and dehydrated on the weak cycle of the washing machine.

The third type: wool blanket

Wool (cashmere) quilt is the most intimate quilt. The carbonized, washed and combed wool will not have any peculiar smell, including the smell of sheep. However, there will inevitably be some strange smell after being stored for a long time. You can spray alcohol evenly on the wool, sprinkle a small amount of yellow rice on the wool and gently whip it or roll it tightly with a soft blanket, put some mothballs in it and let it sit for a while (about two months). The odor on the sheepskin can evaporate with the alcohol and camphor. On the other hand, wool quilts are best not washed. If conditions permit, it is recommended to dry clean it, or dry it in the sun for half an hour, but avoid direct exposure to the sun. When drying, you can put a piece of cloth on the quilt to avoid damage to non-wool fibers caused by the strong sun.

The fourth type: down quilt

Down quilts are the lightest quilts. If there is sufficient sunlight, you can take the down quilt out to dry for a while, but not for too long. Hang it in a cool and ventilated place outdoors (or on a balcony) for 2-3 days, then pat it evenly to eliminate the unpleasant smell. You can also spray the quilt with lemon water and put it in a cool place to dry overnight. This will remove the odor on the quilt. This method is very simple, but remember that it is best to spray it instead of sprinkling it, and spray it evenly.
