What to do if there are termites

What people fear most is the appearance of termites in their homes. What to do if termites appear has always been a topic of concern to everyone. Termites not only eat wooden furniture and wooden structures in the home, causing serious safety hazards, but also pose a threat to human health. So, what should you do if there are termites in your home? Today I will tell you what to do if you have termites.

If the termites come out of the soil, you just need to dig up the soil to find the ant nest and disinfect them all.

Dial 114 to find the telephone number of the local termite control station and call to report the termite situation in your home. Generally, the termite control station will send someone to provide door-to-door service. Of course, they will charge a certain service fee, but they are a professional termite killing team, and the termite killing effect is much better than doing it yourself.

(1) Establish a chemical protection zone along the outer wall foundation of the building

Because underground termites can enter the building from under the soil through the gaps in the load-bearing columns of the wall foundation and cause harm, establishing a chemical protection zone at the foundation of the first floor of the house can prevent termites from entering the house through this route. It is important that the protective belt surrounds the entire building and that the chemicals can penetrate 2 meters underground. Any breach in the protective belt could be exploited by termite scouts to re-enter the building. Therefore, Min Tai’s method is to drill holes every 50cm along the wall foundation (the customer needs to cooperate with Min Tai Pest Control to point out the location of underground water pipes, gas pipes and other pipelines), and at the same time, inject about 7L of termite control drugs into each hole (see the picture on the right), and the injection method is high-pressure injection, not ordinary manual spraying.

(2) Termite prevention treatment of existing wooden products

Existing wooden products, including the wooden skirtings, wall panels, door frames, built-in cabinets, etc. on the first floor, need to be adequately treated with termite prevention measures to ensure that these places are not attacked by termites.

For the treatment of existing wooden products, Mintai will adopt the method of drilling micro holes and spraying the agent on the back of the wooden products through special nozzles, thus ensuring that termites cannot attack the wooden products from the back.

(3) Bait station system

For the entire residential property or office space, termite bait stations can be set up along the perimeter of the building to monitor and control termite breeding.

Intercept detectors are used as termite monitoring and control tools. During the high-incidence season of termite reproduction and occurrence (April and October), personnel are arranged to conduct on-site inspections of termite occurrence at these bait stations.

The monitoring station first uses baits that termites like to eat. Once termite damage is found during the inspection, it will quickly switch to growth regulators that inhibit termites. After finding these drugs, the worker ants can carry them into the nest and share them with other young ants and the queen ant, thereby destroying the entire nest.

First, bury underground ant stations equipped with wooden termite interceptors in the soil around the building to be protected at a certain distance. When termites are found in a certain ant station, fill the paste into the poison bait bag, and then put the bag into the bait station where termites are active.

Termite bait stations are buried around buildings in areas where termites will frequently look for food. The termite control professionals of Mintai Pest Control will regularly inspect these ant stations buried around the buildings at a certain frequency until termite activity is found in the ant stations.
