Homemade contact lens solution

Homemade contact lens solution

Now many people have found that wearing glasses actually has a certain impact on a person's appearance, so contact lenses have become a better choice. However, contact lenses need care solution to protect and moisten them. I believe many people forget to bring care solution when they are outside, so they wonder if there is anything that can replace the care solution. Can we make the care solution ourselves? The answer is no, because it is impossible to ensure complete safety when eye care solution comes into contact with the eye. Now I would like to recommend some measures for you without using care solution.

First, it’s best to buy a bottle.

If an emergency occurs and you don't have contact lens solution, it is best to buy another bottle of contact lens solution immediately. But if it is really inconvenient, you can find a smaller container, fill it with water, boil it for about 30 minutes, and then wait for the water to cool completely. It can be used temporarily instead of contact lens solution. Of course, this is just a simple emergency method. Never use this method to replace contact lens solution for a long time. Soaking contact lenses in such pure water is only to replenish moisture to the lenses in time to prevent them from drying and hardening, but it cannot kill bacteria, disinfect, or remove protein. Therefore, before the next use, be sure to clean the lenses thoroughly to avoid harm to the contact lenses.

Second, why do we need to use care solution?

Contact lens care solution is used every day by contact lens wearers. The deposits and pathogens on the lens surface must first be removed with the care solution so that the subsequent sterilization and preservation can be carried out effectively. Because deposits will remain on the surface of the lens if it is not completely cleaned, when sterilization is performed directly, the bactericidal ingredients will only combine with the deposits and cannot combine with pathogens. In this way, the bactericidal ingredients cannot play a bactericidal role.

The third method of use .

Studies have found that a complete and correct cleaning method can clean the deposits on the surface of the lens and kill 90% of pathogens. However, in actual use, many users only do simple cleaning and do not rub it with their hands. Experts point out that this is very wrong. Because rubbing the lenses with your hands is the most effective way to clean contact lenses is to use "your own hands", "lens cleaning solution", and "single-serving saline solution specially for contact lenses". The correct way is to drop lens cleaning liquid on the lens and rub the lens back and forth directly with your fingertips. After scrubbing, the lenses should be rinsed repeatedly with saline solution, and finally moisturized completely with saline solution. Only after the entire cleaning process is completed can sterilization be carried out.
