Rectal cancer usually causes pain in three places

As a malignant tumor of the digestive tract, the pain of rectal cancer is usually closely related to the location, size and metastasis of the tumor. Generally, there are three places of pain, such as anal pain, abdominal pain and perineal pain.

1. Anal pain: In the early stage of rectal cancer, it may manifest as anal discomfort. As the disease progresses, persistent anal pain gradually appears, especially after defecation. This pain may be related to the invasion of the cancer on the tissues around the anus.

2. Abdominal pain: When rectal cancer develops to a certain extent, abdominal pain may occur. This pain may be caused by intestinal obstruction caused by the enlargement of the tumor, which prevents the contents in the intestine from passing smoothly, thus causing abdominal pain. The rupture of the tumor may also irritate the intestine and surrounding tissues, causing pain.

3. Perineal pain: When rectal cancer is located in the lower abdomen, it may affect the perineum, causing perineal pain. This pain may be accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency, affecting the patient's daily life.
