Will urinary stones affect sexual function?

Will urinary stones affect sexual function?

Urinary stones are caused by stones in the bladder, ureters, etc. that block the urethra during urination. It can cause difficulty in defecating, swelling and pain. This disease and symptoms do have a certain impact on sexual function, but not too great. Urethra obstruction and the formation of hydronephrosis will cause renal dysfunction. However, this situation occurs along with urinary stones. If the stones are cured, this situation will be alleviated and disappear accordingly.

Treatment of stones

If you ignore kidney stones because there are no symptoms, the stones will only continue to grow larger and may eventually lead to serious consequences such as hydronephrosis and renal failure. Therefore, the treatment for kidney stones should be “early detection and early treatment”! For smaller kidney stones (generally 8mm in size), if there is no urinary tract obstruction, they can be expelled through drug-based stone removal treatment. Commonly used Chinese patent medicines for stone removal in clinical practice include Urinary Stone-Removing Pills and Stone-Removing Granules. (1) Niu Shi Tong Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine for stone removal. Its main ingredients include Herba Lycopodii, Herba Lycopodii, Herba Galliformis, Herba Plantagoe, etc. It is effective in treating various urinary tract stones and is a routine medication after various lithotripsy operations, which can accelerate the excretion of stones. In addition, Niu Shi Tong Wan also has a preventive effect on the recurrence of stones after surgery. (2) Paishi Granules are dehumidifying agents that have the effects of clearing away heat, promoting diuresis, and relieving stranguria and expelling stones. They are mainly used to treat kidney stones, ureteral stones, bladder stones and other diseases that are caused by damp-heat syndrome in the lower abdomen. Pay attention to drinking plenty of water during the stone removal treatment, and ensure that the daily water intake reaches 3000 ml. At the same time, increase the amount of exercise moderately to promote the excretion of stones. The time it takes for kidney stones to be excreted is closely related to individual constitution, stone size and location, and varies from person to person. Generally, for small stones, one course of treatment will be effective. If the stones cannot be expelled after one course of stone-expelling drugs (about 2 months), you should go to the hospital for a follow-up examination or consider changing the treatment method or medication. For larger stones, they must first be broken up through minimally invasive surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, and then treated with medication to remove the stones.

Food taboos

1. Drink more water and don’t hold your urine. Don't hold your urine. Drinking more and urinating more often can help bacteria, carcinogens and stone-forming substances to be excreted quickly from the body, reducing the chance of damage to the kidneys and bladder.

2. Eat less salt. A diet that is too salty will increase the workload of the kidneys, and salt and calcium have a synergistic effect in the body and can interfere with the metabolic process of drugs for the prevention and treatment of kidney stones.

3. Eat less meat and animal offal. Control the intake of meat and animal offal, because meat metabolism produces uric acid, and animal offal is a high-purine food, and its decomposition and metabolism will also produce high blood uric acid, and uric acid is a component of urinary stones.

4. Eat spinach with caution. According to statistics, more than 90% of urethral stones contain calcium, and calcium oxalate stones account for about 87.5%.

Don't drink milk before going to bed. Because milk contains more calcium, and most urethral stones contain calcium salts.

76. Don’t eat too much sugar. After taking sugar, the calcium ion concentration, oxalic acid and acidity in urine will increase. The increase in urine acidity can make calcium urate and calcium oxalate easier to precipitate, promoting the formation of urethral stones.

High-risk population

1. The first group of people: sweat a lot and drink little water

2. The second group of people: obese people

3. The third group of people: people with calcium deficiency

4. The fourth group of people: people who sleep in a single position
