Why does my back hurt when I breathe?

Why does my back hurt when I breathe?

What is this back pain? In fact, many people are prone to this situation. Sometimes it may be caused by back or soft tissue diseases, or respiratory diseases. Therefore, we should have a scientific understanding of any cause of the disease, so that we know how to treat it symptomatically and reduce the impact of these diseases or pain.

1. Common causes

There are many patients with back pain, and the common cause is local bone or soft tissue disease of the back. Other pains include pain reflected from organ diseases to the back or pain caused by tumors in other parts of the body metastasizing to the back.

2. Characteristics of back pain caused by respiratory diseases:

① Local pain is accompanied by respiratory symptoms and signs.

② Pain related to breathing is often seen in cases of pleural lesions.

③ Check that there is no lesion in the spine, no restriction of movement, and no local tenderness.

④ Chest imaging examination may reveal lung or pleural lesions.

3. Characteristics of back pain caused by circulatory system diseases:

① Pain behind the sternum or in front of the heart, which may radiate to the shoulder.

② It is often triggered or aggravated by physical activity and improves after rest.

③ Chest and shoulder pain is often transient and can be quickly improved or eliminated by using cardiovascular dilators and oxygen inhalation.

④ During an attack, electrocardiogram examination may reveal myocardial ischemic changes.

4. Digestive system diseases Many digestive system diseases can cause back pain. Characteristics:

① Each organ disease has a fixed reflex site. For example, biliary colic often reflects to the left chest and back, so biliary colic in the elderly is easily misdiagnosed as coronary heart disease. Pancreatic disease often reflects to the left lower back. Gastric and duodenal tumors or penetrating ulcers often reflect to the middle part of the posterior chest and back. ②Pain attacks are often related to dietary factors.

③Ultrasound and gastrointestinal angiography can confirm the diagnosis.
