The human coccyx can be injured by falls or collisions due to various carelessness, resulting in fractures or bone dislocations. Although bones look hard, they are very fragile. Bone injuries are the most difficult to recover because, unlike the flesh, they can be regenerated by the blood circulation system. In contrast, bones do not have this. What should we do if the coccyx is dislocated? Let us learn together the best time to reposition a coccyx dislocation. Currently, there is no consensus among clinicians on the treatment of this disease. Due to the anatomical characteristics of the coccyx, although it is easy to reposition a fractured bone, it is very easy to become dislocated again because it cannot be properly fixed. Therefore, most doctors currently believe that coccyx fracture and dislocation does not require reduction, only rest is needed. If coccyx pain symptoms occur, local physical therapy and blockade should be performed. If conservative treatment is ineffective, coccyx resection can be performed. However, a few doctors believe that after a coccyx fracture, a digital rectal examination can be used to try manual reduction. If the reduction can be achieved and maintained, the patient's worries can be relieved. Some patients cannot maintain reduction, but intraanal manipulation can effectively relieve the spasm and pain of the muscles around the coccyx, which is an effective treatment for coccygeal pain. Combined with local physical therapy and blockade, most patients with traumatic coccygeal pain can be cured. The author believes that a minority of doctors have a more positive view and have been using the above-mentioned treatment methods for many years, with satisfactory clinical observation results. The above views are just my personal opinions. 1) It usually takes three months for fractures to heal, but it is also affected by factors such as age, gender, infection, and fixation. Coccyx fractures cannot be fixed. If the dislocation is obvious, it may cause nonunion, but it generally does not affect walking and will not cause sequelae. If the symptoms persist for a long time, coccyx resection surgery can be performed. 2) Specific treatment can be achieved by changing the sitting posture, that is, try to sit with the thighs to reduce the weight and pressure on the buttocks; when sitting, you can use air cushions or air rings to lift the painful area to prevent local compression and thus relieve pain. Secondly, it can be treated with infrared, ultrasound, ion introduction, massage, acupuncture, cupping, Chinese medicine oral and external application, etc. If Chinese medicine is used for external application, the drugs that relax muscles and tendons, promote blood circulation and relieve pain can be put into a cloth bag, put into a pot, add water and boil it, and then apply wet heat to the affected area; local application of blood circulation and pain relief ointment or musk analgesic ointment is also effective; go to the hospital for local blockade, that is, use 2-4 ml of 2% procaine plus 0.5-1 ml of hydrocortisone acetate to block the local pain points, which can achieve immediate results. |
