Fresh mango

Fresh mango

Mango is a tropical fruit, so most of the fruits people see are transported from the south to the north. Therefore, the mangoes are not ripe when they are first picked, and even after they are transported to the north, they are still green. It takes some time for them to gradually mature. Mangoes should be eaten immediately after being bought home, because fresh mangoes are the most delicious. So how do you tell whether mangoes are fresh?

Mangoes should be stored in a dark, cool place. If they must be placed in the refrigerator, they should be placed in a vegetable and fruit slot with a higher temperature. It is best not to store them for more than two days. Some mangoes that are not ripe when you buy them are less cold-resistant, so it is best not to put them in the refrigerator. Otherwise, not only will they fail to mature properly, they will also rot and become inedible.

How to choose mango:

1. Smell it with your nose. A good mango will give off a wonderful aroma. Generally, the stronger the aroma, the better the taste.

2. Gently press the flesh. A ripe mango will feel very elastic, just like a peach. If it is too soft, it means it is overripe. Avoid mangoes that have lots of black spots. It is normal for mangoes to have a small number of spots, but if there are too many, it means that the mango flesh has been damaged to some extent.

3. When using mangoes for cooking, it is better to choose mangoes with full shapes, which means that the fruit has more flesh and small seeds, and is more suitable for cooking. Mangoes with bright and natural colors are of the best quality, while those with delicate and smooth skin are better than those with rough skin. Choose mangoes with fine skin and dark color, as these mangoes are fresh and ripe. Don't pick the ones that are a little green, as that means they are not fully ripe; the more spread out the stem is a sign that the mango is ripe.

How to store mangoes: Store in a cardboard box. Take a cardboard box and wrap the mangoes one by one with paper. You can use toilet paper or clean newspaper. Then put it in a paper box and place it in a dark, cool, ventilated corner of your home. It can be stored for about 4-5 days. Refrigerate. Put the mangoes in a plastic bag and refrigerate them in the refrigerator. They can be kept for a few days. It is best to check them every day to see if they become soft or rotten. Eat them in time. If they are spoiled, they cannot be eaten.
